Should I Get Replaced My Piston Ring Set

aakalpa

Question

Hi guys,

My car is Carina AT192, I have a problem with my engine oil level. Usually I service the car once in every 4000km. Meanwhile approximately I add ½ liter + rest of the oil from 4 liter can which I used for early service. (AC, Pick up quite ok. No smoke also)

I just need do know, do I need to get replaced my piston ring set?

THX

Hi aakalpa

Look at your exhaust tunnel, how is it ? Put your finger inside it and see whether it is oily ,if so you may need to build it with probebly with new piston and ring set if not you got some other way you loose your engine oil probably a leak in the system.

Thanks

I would suggest to take a look at valve sheets before suspecting rings or any possible oil leak through crank and cam oil seals?

Thx Sumith, I checked the exhaust pipe its dry no sign of oil and there is a small leak near the sump as u guess, probably that might be the reason.

Have a nice day
