Question

Posted (edited)

"Engine tuning is a must for good fuel economy"

Under tuning, the fuel injectors are cleaned. (N throttle body)

After that, a car will get good performance. (pick up).

My question is, though this is a good solution for fuel economy, after cleaning these all, it allows even larger fuel flow.

Does not this cause for even larger fuel consumption??

Then how this is good for save fuel?

No it won't. If evrything is kept cleaned from the inside  they system will work fine. The fuel flow should be smooth/spray

The cleaning helps the engine to get the correct amount of air/fuel in. Less fuel going in doesnt mean lower fuel consumption because for the fuel to burn there is a specific air/fuel ratio at which the fuel will burn efficiently and release its energy. If you put less fuel in there will be more air and the combustion will not happen very efficiently so this will not release the energy in the fuel properly and this will also create more harmful exhaust gases as well.

Just imagine when you push the accelerator a certain amount to get upto a certain speed with less fuel going in, the engine will not produce the same power so you will have to push the accelerator more to get upto the same speed putting even more fuel which will burn even more inefficiently increasing your fuel consumtion. An engine always need the correct amount of fuel and air to run efficiently and increasing or decreasing this will only mean higher fuel consumption.

wrong way of looking at injector cleaning. Cleaning helps to regain the optimum pressure and pattern of the spray which will help the optimum burning of fuel since this type of pressurized spray will separate it into particles.

Also what others mentioned about maintaining the optimum ratio is another reason and it further ensures what is sprayed into the combustion chamber is the same amount of fuel that ECU "asked" injectors to spray and "thinks" it did.
