N16 Stall !!!!

Hi guys,has anyone experienced below issue on Nissan sunny N16 before ??

*engine suddenly quits while driving at average speeds such as 40-70km/h (sometimes this happens several time per day)

*all the gauges on the dash goes out along with the presets of stereo

*when starting, O/D OFF light blinks for couple of seconds & goes off. (happens only when starting after a stall)

took to the agents,but they couldn't fix the issue.

Aware of same Issue of a Nissan Sedan in same family of B14 or Pulsar.

But this was reported only once.

After that. Didn't encountered @all.

My Advice.

1. Check ur Battery condition n Alternator for veryfy battery charging happens correctly.

2. Check ur spark plugs for any crack or issue.

These are very basic things. I dunno Y even agent didnt recognize the issue.

But this is something very upset to happen while driving so u just bring her to a well recognized Technitian, Better if Nissan specialist..

afaik the only way the stereo presets can go off if the power supply to it gets cut in some way...

possibly start with the things to do with the battery, charging system etc...

and when it stalls...how is your RPM level! does the RPM fluctuate almost as if it's getting strangled to a slow death or does it die instantly?

got alternator & battery checked,but could not find any issues with them

it's almost like running out of petrol while driving.engine stops responding & dies slowly.what do you think about the blinking "O/D OFF" indicator,is it a error code ??

if the issue related to electrical system of the engine,isn't the check engine light suppose to come on ??

not really. the engine check light is to indicate a set of issues and if your problem falls outside of that... the engine check light wont light up.

If it's possible....take it to the agents and run a diagnostic...

If all else is in order...there's a possibility that your ECU might be going bad...

I had somewhat similar situ on my sprinter sometime back...no engine check lights and the car would stall out after revs going down all the way...

did the basic checks and everything came out ok until one fine day...she refused to start.

Took it to toyota and they traced it to the ECU and also an issue with the Delco...
