Brake, Engine, Battery Warning Lights Continuously On

Hi,

I have Toyota Corolla CE96 Diesel 1991 Station Wagon.

Last week suddenly i got Brake, Engine, Battery warning lights continuously ON.

Any idea what may be the cause .......?

Is it due to alternator issue or something else ?

Hi,

I just went to an auto electrician. He said seems alternator is defective, since battery charging voltage is below 12v.

He said need to remove the alternator and see.

So i have to keep my car there and come back.

After came home, I checked are there any alternator repair mannuals in the web, just to get an understanding of how it works...

Fortunately i found below from Toyota USA.

never heard of a brake warning light flashing when the alternator is faulty...are you sure their not ripping you off?maybe it's just a problem with the wiring...

The alternator has a vacume pump and if the alternator is not performing good ( rotation) charging as well as brakes dont function well.

This seems something with the alternator drive system, and not electrical something, check the drive belts.
