Is it possible to find an unregistered NZT260 around 4.2 M

no way. NZT 260 range is from 5.5 to 6.0 after the tax reduction. for 4.2 Million you can go for a 2006 NZT 240 registered car. thats your upper limit at the moment. but the 240 prices will further come down.

A cousin of mine found an unregistered 260 - year 2007 for 52. can bring it down to 50 I think. she already has a 240 - 2004 and she is trying to dispose of it now to upgrade.

NZT 260 is the 1.5 (A15) version right? curious to know the price range for A18 (1800CC).. isn't the NZT260 bit underpowered?

@ evergreen,

I think NZT260 should be around 4.2million(2007) to 5.6million(2010) range...

Coz today I found a B/New 2010/06 Allion. it would be 5.7Mn. Still new stocks hasn't arrived to the market. So what will happen after that?

Actually my budget is 5million if it is a good deal... I know that the current prices will further go down... So that's d issue..

@Ruslan

Actually I concern only about the fuel consumption and the resale value.. So power for me is not relevant.. :)

Also I saw some advertisements selling NZT240 (2006/2005- Premio/Allion) below 4million...

The smaller engine capacity could have an impact on the fuel efficiency. Its function of the weight of the car and the engine capacity. I hear the 1.6 corolla 141 brand new doesnt do that well on fuel.

No offence here... but why is it that people are willing to spend 5Mn for a car and make such a fuss on an extral km advantage on fuel, which generally doesn't save more than a couple of thousands the most a month....

I can understand the Maruti segment being so sensitive to this... but the Allion crowd....!!

You have a point there seeker. Although i don't want to categories anyone as maruti or allion crowd -- the fact remains that after spending 5 million on a car - its better to 'enjoy' the car, rather than keeping a constant watch on the fuel gauge.

The reason i wanted to respond to this post was really to point out the fact - that when you spend so much - you cannot think of saving fuel /expenses on spares/ etc. - as its going to be high anyhow.

If you want to save - it should have been kept in the bank & it could have collected a hefty annual interest!!

Well guys, it's like this. however much we spend for a vehicle, we expect fuel economy. It's a mental thing. 90% Sri Lankan's are guilty! We go for high spec cars when we got the cash and then expect at least 10kmpl. :-)

But talking of Allions, for their size and class, fuel economy is good. Even the Allion 1.8 is good on fuel. I dont know why people dont buy it. I don't think it is liable for luxury.tax.

no one has replied to my question here. I need to know the cost of a NZT260 allion as I'm going to buy a car sooner... But Car sales haven't reduced there prices as they should have... So when will they reduce it to ideal prices.. Will have to wait for months for that... :(

Bro, the person who can give a conclusive answer to your question has the potential to be one of the richest on earth... as no one can accurately predict the future, the Japanese car auctions or the Govt policies in SL!!

As some one pointed out in a different topic, the general prices can be obtained by giving a few calls or a few visits to the car sales... if you feel the prices are bloated to make a quick buck, you've three options...

1) check the car import procedure for personal use, find a party who'll bring down the vehicle, and hope for good..

2) look at a lower priced make / model

3) invest the money elsewhere and enjoy the bus ride! ;)

i wouldn't pay nearly 6 million and buy a 1.5L engined car. but that's just me. i think Bluebird, Teana, Camry, Accord might be within kissing distance for that kind of money. but i guess this obsession for allion is coz it is not only a car but an investment tool as well. but like any attractive investment tool this seems to be on a price bubble of its own.
