Hi friends

I am intrested in buying Honda EG8 to have some good driving expierience(as second vehicle)

Its so good looking and affordable

But i dnt no what are the common issues with it and the fuel consumption.

What is the difference between Ferio and other models

Whats the market of a EG8 with a vtec engine?and what are the common probs with Vtec eng

Need your expert opinion on this please

Has been discussed 1001 times before, try the Honda section ;)

And anyway look for anything and everything like you do for anyother car. And if your asking specifically about the Vtec engined car? It's an EFI, so look for the CEL. Fuel consumption, you don't have to worry if the internals are in right condition and maintained. And afaik all JDM EG sedans were Ferio? Atleast Vtecs? but i don't know. Go ahead, buy it!! :D

agree with Kalana.... but its really rare to find a very well maintained EG8 at a reasonalable price these days... most of them r either hacked or not i good condition...

well internal condition is a must...

VTECs are good in fuel. 10-12 with AC... i use a carb model.. it doe about 9 - 10 with AC.

Absolutely true :P

If u wanna more power, better to hang on with vtec or dual carb version. single carb version is bit underpowered in high rpms. Since this is ur second car, EG6 is the ideal deal ..But those are very very rare & pretty expensive too.

most modified cars are maintained by Honda lovers & they take good care of their cars, sometimes far better than ones that are not modified.in a nutshell,if the car is well maintained, buy it if it's modified or not.

I would thing all these modified cars are ones that you should AVOID. There are 2 typoes of modifications, cosmetic and mechanical.. those that are mechanically modified are done so for a reason. That is to be able to thrash the cars down green path or some other mean fo racing.. and those THAT HAVE cosmetic modifications are quite often tasteless and done with heavy fiber-glass (no doubt the person doing this had no idea on the negative impact it had ont he car, hence kinda uneducated about car-maintenance).. I'm not saying that this is the norm, but IMO you're better off (reliability wise) buying a car that look plain-jane than all blinged up...

make sure the rubber beading between the windscreen and the plastic cover thing underneath the wipers is in good condition. If water leaks through that for a long time it could form rust around the lower part of the windscreen which would everntually lead to water leaks..:)
