Used Vehicle Importing Restriction?

Hey, guys do you know about any thing restriction on importing USED vehicle something like

Import control license to be obtained from import control department for the over aged vehicles prior to the date of shipment of the particular vehicle.

That limit is

100,000KM limit OR

3 Years (Period between the date of first registration and the date of shipment (date of Bill of Lading) of the relevant vehicle shall be taken for the computation of the period of use

WHICHEVER EARLIEAR

I think it should be 3.5 years.

If it is within the range (this range is given in the customs website for each vehicle (www.customs.gov.lk) you dont need import controllers permit. It is for the vehecles over that age which are called over aged vehicles. The stuff you get for blue permits etc. These vehicles fall under a specific HS code which attract a differnt duty. Therefore, it is not worth to get them down right now bec you dont get the benifit of the depreciation.
