I prefer Drive Green & there were some old Autolanka threads that suggested the same afair...

A good tune up with fresh oil & filters, plugs etc should hold you in good stead

This is not about the emissions so much as the rasthiyadu... one place in Kandy (can't remember which company, it's near the water board water purification plant) said they couldn't do the test unless we had either the original book or a certified photocopy of it, which we weren't carrying in the car (we had just a normal photocopy).

So either carry the book with you or make sure they don't require it!

Hi Guys,

If you have any experience on this pls reply.

For EFI Models

For Carb Models

what is the best "Laugh" or "Drive Green"?

Hi Mate

Mainly Cleaning you fuel system

New set of Spark plugs

New Fuel oil and air filter

new contact point(if you have contact point ignition rather than electric ignition)

Mainly these requirement depend on the condition of you vehicle and smoke

and make sure that you should keep your car on normal operating temperature while you are there (very important)

thanks

Regards

sumith

Well, its understandable why they want to see the book of the vehicle for the test. They DO need to verify that the vehicle they are doing the test onis that you claim it to be. Else people will slap on plates of screwed up cars on a good one and simply pass the test. So the only way they can verify the engine/chassis number is to look it up on the 'book'.. Thats not an unfair requirement...

It may be a reasonable requirement, but both companies' test centers in Ambuldeniya/Mirihana area didn't require originals or certified copies.

And a friend of mine with an ancient VW paid few bucks extra and got the same report as the nice and shiny N16 that had done the test just previously. So 'nuff said about their efforts to verify vehicles :action-smiley-060:

aahh Sri Lanka

but i've had to submit the original registration documents at the Mirihana place as well as the Drive Green centers in Bambalapitiya (Marine Drive) & Moratuwa

So either one company (the one that I also experienced in Kandy) changed policies after I had used it at Mirihana, and maybe the next time I went to the other.

Or maybe it's subjective and depends on which side of the bed the guy got out of that morning

I went to the Kandy same place you mentioned with originals. a Saturday morning.. no hassle only took couple of minutes.

Tried Laughs Additiya for the Defenders emissions test - no drama , i felt that they didn't strain the engine as much as the Moratuwa Drive Green - but all in all no major difference. Quick & pain less :)
