I like the looks of the montero sport. I have no idea what it costs or how economical it is to run. I hear there are both pertrol and diesal versions and Mistsubishi engines are generally good and agent here in SL is also very good and genuine. Do we have any users here who can help me out with more details/recommendations?

dunno about diesels but petrol ones are superb. and come to think of it...i've not seen a single diesel

IMO your biggest issue would be finding a monty sport for sale.

a friend of mine have been on the hunt for one for months with no luck.

Isn't this the model that some permit holders imported recently.. both Diesel and Petrol..

yep i've seen quite a few diesel's that were brought down on the permit.. But I dont think you'll see those for sale for some time...

I guess you are still doing your initial fact findings. I was looking for one sometime back but settled on something else. I guess you are looking at a used vehicle (registered) rather than to buy brand new. While I was doing my search almost a year ago the 2003/2004 models (Petrol) were going around Rs 4M. The fuel consumption would be around 5km per liter. Quite a comfortable ride.

hmmm have heard that the ride is so-so ... given that its based on an L200 chassis afaik

& even the engine they offered wasn't really cutting edge

5kmpl? I thought it did better than that. Yes, I am looking for a second hand SUV type, perhaps a rav4 would be a better option though.

If you want a SUV that is good on fuel I suggest you stick with the RAV4. The montero just might make you cry at the pump.

To me The Monero sports is a double cab trying to looks like a SUV

Actually, that is why I like it. It is different from the normal SUV styles.

O.K. There was one at Metropolitan and at TIGO. Check with them if they are for sale. Both are in good condition. One is red and other is black
