Honda Civic-Ek3

mosh

Question

I recently bought a civic Ek3-VIRS having multimatic gearbox.

It needs to keep engine running until heat comes-up for smooth travel. Otherwise when i am trying to just start and move it is jumping (when engine @ cool stage) and feel uncomfortable.

Could I know the problem arising and the actions that i have to take, please?

What you mean by jumping exactly. There is a problem with Multimatic gear boxes if you didn't maintain it properly. And I have experienced sudden RPM drop while driving that caused sudden jerks kind of thing from engine due to sensor errors which solved after tune up.

Its the start clutch issue... might need to clean the valve body...if you are lucky enough u will end up by only cleaning the valve body..else have to do a full overhaul..but it seems you are at the fisrt stage of stall issue...therefore better to seek assistance from the agents and do a valve body clean up..will cost you something around 7000 to 8000 bucks @ Agents...

have you changed the CVT fluid recently? if not change the fluid immediately. that would sort out your issue.let us know the progress. this jerk is a common issue in multimatic boxes. if the fluid change doesnt work, there are a few more steps you could follow.

CVT fluid changed recently (abt 8000km back)

This is doesn't cumming after the engine get heated. den its acts as normal.

to avoid this probe I left engine stars for about 2,3 mins

get the gear box lower valve body cleaned by the agents and make sure they replace the oil strainer underneath.best is to replace the CVT oil at the same time for better results.this would most likely sort out the issue.

Actually it means car get sudden pick-up. when i release the brake it is not moving. i have to use the accelerator to some extent for initial moving. then it get sudden pick-up and move den back to normal. all this is happening only for few seconds.

I've experienced similar thing when TPS doesn't give correct reading. When did you do the last tune up?
