Honda Fit Jazz

Hi all,

I'm planing to import Honda FIT JAZZ(2008). All the review I read about it looks promising. I went in and look at an unregistered Honda FIT JAZZ (2007) vehicle at a car sale. It was a good car but the price is almost double as I expected it would be.

The car is small but Spacious. ULTR seats are awesome(http://www.honda.lk/jazz/interior/interior03.html). But my dealer said it is manufactured in Indian plant and there might be problems with finding parts. So I would like to ask if anyone of you have any information regarding this, please share it with us. Thank you.

Well, can be but most of the Fit(hatch) models comes from japan, the ones that you see presently in car sales and sure it's a nice ride. But there's a reasonable difference between the 2007 model and the eight. It's a good ride with 1.3ltr i-Vtech. ( As far as i know car seller don't import Indian stuff in here except for the agent who bought down a damn city few years ago, anyway when you open up the bonnet u can easily say whether it's a jap or a Hindustani  )

Don't buy the Indian versions, somehow try to find a JDM car for your budget, and you'd be very happy with one of the best hatchbacks in the market. :) Cuz the Indian stuff are cheap, unreliable, costly to maintain in the long run due to low quality parts, useless copies made with outdated technology or the battered old used machines from Japan. I got some friends there and was informed of bad quality, and they never make new tooling for those models to be produced in India or China.

As a side note, their engines are very crude, low on power, bad in efficiency, and breaks downs way too much... dry.gif

Thx for all the informations. Good to know that the Indian model sucks big time (As usual). I will definitely go for the Japanese one. I need to check with few people who import vehicles from Japan for a Honda FIT JAZZ (Japanese) I can afford.

You're welcome and good choice, cuz Japanese cars have legendary reliability. :) There were one or two Fit (Jazz) for sale here in AL last time I could look up, why don't you see if they suit your requirements?

Yes. I have seen those adds. But I decide not to go for those because of two reasons. One is that I like 2008 model than old models, because of I-Vtec engine and much better shape and look. The other reason is the those were over priced. Yes, typical Sri Lankan second hand car market. Anyway, if my calculations are correct, I'll be able to bring down a Jazz(2008) from Japan for the price of 2003 or 2002 Jazz in Sri Lanka.

Have you got a Jazz now? :) Or still checking the SL market, got another car or trying to import?

What were those calculations, care to share? What auctions are you checking? I've seen many high values for JDM cars. And how much is the agent giving as FOB?

I'm not checking the SL market, I gave it up few months ago. :D

According to the information I got the tax amount for late 2007 car or early 2008 car will be around 1.2 million to 1.3 million. And I check few Japan Auctions, some early 2008 FIT Jazz goes for less than $10 000 if it has high millage (over 30k).

Anyways, I need to finalize few things before I start the process. Wish me luck. I will share all the information when I'm done.

Hehe :D Ok then, that's kinda good getting your own vehicle than paying a lot more for everyone along the way in our market.

Did you check UK too by any chance? Cuz I see that vehicles in Japan are pretty expensive comparatively...

Wish you good luck! :) And yes, please do share the information with us and a few pics too.
