Elvis_Pil
Dear Maheshw8, Yes it is compulsory. The police have been asked to arrest all GT Starlet Drivers who do not have straight through exhaust systems.
CARBON
hey guyz,, i have a starlet gt,, and i want to know is it compulsory to have straight through exhaust system on turbo charged cars,, coz still i'm running with the standard exhaust system (barrel at the middle),, and i want to know any performance change with that system and is it gonna be a bad fuel consumption?? thnx, No its not compulsory, thats why the car came out of the factory that way even with a turbocharger.... If u make it free flowing there is a chance u will burn more petrol. Maybe just a little.
Crazy Life
free flow exhause is one of the easiest method to gain some more performance from your engine.but just changing the muffler wont make much in power gain.for the fuel economy, afaik it does affect a lil bit for your fuel, but if you want to gain more HP=save more fuel,it wont work that way. If you are planing to go free flow, from downpipe to end ,take it to a professional who knows his job
