Vios Problem

Hi all. I have a vios 2003 car and i noticed that wires of some sensor near to the throttle were removed from the sensor. some how one of my friend said that it must be indicate the check engine light for this manner. there is a 1 indicator with oval shape,which has 1 horizontal and 1 vertical line. i thought that it indicates the tire pressure, but my friend says there must have 2 different indicators for check engine and tire pressure, but there is only 1 indicator I've noticed with this shape. please anyone can explain me whether this is check engine indicator or tire pressure indicator or indicator that displays the both of them?? thank you.

Never hear of such an indicator. But this should not b either of u suspect.

Vios manual or owners will guide you.

I suspect whether this has something to do with Lamps or Brake.

Hi Herath

If it is check engine , you can simply check it with key on Check Engine should come on and go off after you start the engine , if you don't have any problem with your engine .the easy way to check is to identify which dash indicator doesn't work if it is related to dash .if not you better go to a mechanic mate

How do you know whether you have problem with your engine, what sort of problems or symptoms

you have to say there is a problem. i doubt whether you are referring TPS sensor connections

hi sumith. yaa i mean there are 2 wires which are unplugged from some sensor and still i haven't time to fix it. but non of my indicator indicate there is some issue in my car. ?? so it like this. actually there are some wires unplugged from sensor.so there must be a issue because that sensor doesn't work. but my car indicates me that there is no problem with the car. thats why i mentioned friend.

I don't think that you will get any indication when sensors are unplugged.

But I have a personal experience with O2 sensor. (Used by catalytic converter)

It was when the catalytic converter O2 sensor was burnt, Dashboard will indicate the catelytic converter warning light. If you unplug the sensor wire, warning light goes. If you fix a good O2 sensor, light goes off even it's plugged.

Don't think too much why car doesn't warn you. But fix those unplugged wires as son as possible. Those are there for a valuable reason.

I doubt whether vios has Catalytic Converter indicator, this is an optional indicator which is available in very few models.
