sharky
Hey everyone, I'm getting the chance to import a small subcompact on the cheap direct from Japan. It's for the Missus and family. I'm stuck between a Toyota Vitz and a Honda Fit, I did my research on the web and it seems like the Fit is a better choice, trumping the Vitz in everything except fuel economy. And of course the 2nd hand market value goes for the Vitz too. I just wanted to some opinions from owners of these cars regarding their use in Sri Lanka. BTW I'm in Kandy so we have quite a few hills and the Vitz is supposed to be underpowered. I really prefer the Fit but I've never seen one let alone driven one. Any thoughts from Vitz and Fit owners would be mightily appreciated. Oh and if you think that any other subcompact, in the range of the Fit or Vitz, is better pls tell me. Go for a Demio or Fit Fit has most space when compared with other models. well I've cheked both demio & Fit and a Swift too, you got better driving and pick up in Demio. ( at least for me) And well if ure in Kandy check the horsepower in these vehicles ( google check would do) so you can compare how much power these models give. I would say dont go for a overpriced Toyota when there are lots of other Great vehicles around

The only real problem is the 2nd hand value it seems.
BLu3HaZe
I've seen a new Fit in Kandy and many new Demio's and went in the latter, it tends to feel more powerful as most of their cars are, and much more stable than the Vitz at higher speeds.. Btw, in case your options are only Vitz or Fit, the Fit would make a better choice IMO. As for 2nd hand price, Honda seems to be holding on pretty well now, atleast in Kandy there are huge asking prices and people to buy at the same, but can never be sure as this is SL.. I have no aversion to Toyota, but like the average Joe buying a car, the resale value does factor into the choice a lot. So even if I like to try another brand I'm "forced" to buy a Toyota just because, come the day I want to sell it, I can even turn in a profit! And with so many average Joes like me buying Toyota every other average Joe wanting to buy a car will want one too! This time I really want to go for the Fit but the Missus has the Toyota-is-God mentality and the car is for her anyway. I love Mazda too, in fact one of my first cars was a very old 323 which never gave me any trouble. But the 2nd hand value is almost non-existent! Thanks for all the opinions guys, keep them coming
