Well I sold my 99 EK3 for 1.5 which was in excellent condition and I have seen quite a few late model ek3s go for that price range so you should not have a problem finding one. If you are paying cash don't be afraid to bargain either. Just don't make ridiculous offers and piss off the seller.

These days EK3 is moving little faster than it was about 1,2 years back. When car is in good shape and condition its not very hard to sell. So that is why its difficult to find find cars at your price. Not that price increased dramatically, but hard to find unsold ones. There are few in A/L too, but Vi model is just a little over 1.5M mark. Keep looking, you should be able to find good good Exi model around 1.3 range.

of course you can find a decent civic for 1.5 try to find a car in stock condition or atleast with minimum modifications. try to find a vi with 300 or 301 plates. you would find a one within your budget if you are lucky. or else try to get hold on to a 98/99 brand new import exi.
