  1. To quote Jalopnik, 'Nice Ride' or 'Crack Pipe'?
  2. Broken engine mount I think, the "dadas" sound is the engine shifting and settling.
  3. 6.5 mil for a VW kit car? Trololz. Edit: Yes I know they're rare and collectible, but they're not 6.5 million bucks rare. Also the design has nothing to do with the Miura, I forget what car it's based on though.
  4. Most probably the micro switches are worn out, or less likely, the indicator bulbs are burnt.
  5. I would say the upper limit would be 7-8 laks.
  6. I'm fkn fedup of everyone comparing how much thel their cars do. Going to take a look at the Teana tomorrow or day after.

  7. Follow your mechanic's advice, invest in a good trickle charger and a battery suited for diesel engines. You can use google to find out which battery is best for you.
  8. I would say for the investment, it isn't worth it. Granted Carinas/Coronas have the same options that G grade 141s do (and no, wanker mirrors, intelligent keys, button lock etc are not essential functions), they're overpriced. The Chevy Cruze is a nice distinct looking vehicle IMO, the Passo isn't bad either but the interior is quite spartan and lacking in options when comparing with the Swift/Cruze. In the end, it is your decision, but I do suggest you drive each vehicle and form your own opinion. Don't discount the Toyota Duet either, which is a rebadged Daihatsu Storia. And remember, if you do decide on an older car, check the service history.
  9. IMO, even the latest Carina you can find is still at least 11 years old, and paying ~2.5 million for one seems obtuse. You could easily spend the same on a newer Civic.
  10. Teana for 25. Soooooooooo fkn tempted. Someone please give me a good reason why I should NOT sell the Vios and buy it instead :/

I know but the profit from the sale will be put into a fuel fund :D

If you do buy it, pls get rid of the wheel caps and change to bigger alloys.

  11. In defense of the Jimny/Samurai, they are in fact proper off roaders, just pocket sized; they have solid axles, proper transfer cases and all, and they can be taken off road quite easily, the low weight being an advantage in sticky situations, but the compact dimensions do mean it has a higher center of gravity. The Terios/Rush are simply crossover vehicles which are based on car platforms, and their only distinct advantage is the higher ground clearance and seating position.
  12. fkn hilarious
  13. I'm going to attempt this during the weekend. It will be the first time I'll be properly getting intimate with an EFI engine. I've got a check list of things to do and this seems to be a nice place to start taking things apart from.
  14. +1 for filters. Did you check the fuel filter for clogging? My experience with worn 2C engines have been that, crank them for about 10-15 seconds with a good battery and they *will* start. Even without using the glowplugs.
  15. Surgical spirit might leave a white residue on some surfaces. Don't use Brasso if you dash has a texture, whatever gets in the cracks will show up when it dries, also Brasso is notorious for making matte surfaces shiny. It's fine for the gauge cluster window though, just make sure to use light amounts, if you rub too hard on one spot for too long you run the risk of making that area too concave, and you might start seeing odd reflections.
  16. Haiyo machan
  17. Bluetooth steering wheel with integrated speaker phone for 2013, assuming by the dedicated button for Mum.
  18. It's FD2 for sure. A colleague has a silver example of one.
  19. All I could find in my engine's sump was black liqorice
  20. All the new Rollers since the new design upgrade have come with suicide doors at the rear as standard.
  21. I'd suggest a Cefiro. Plenty of bells and whistles, and there is the odd Japanese 'S.Touring' and 'Excimo' models which come with a manual transmission with the 2 liter engines.
  22. It's a little unnerving to consider BMW are actually chasing Audi.

    E30 Touring

<3 the E30 touring. A long running fantasy of mine is owning a 325iX touring. If only they existed in RHD.
  24. I've heard stories of weak front suspension in the SSangyong version of the Mussos. In fact, I'm sure you've seen a few on the road with hideously sagging front suspension. The front uprights aren't that strong either. Dunno if they were improved when Daewoo took things over. IMO, if you want a SSangyong, aim for a Rexton.
  25. It's amazing just how many people underestimate the Vios. And even more when they refuse to believe that it has the same engine as every other 1.5l toyota on the road since 2001.
