  1. Thats nothing, my Vios can do 300km/h going down hill.
  2. He's probably complaining to Porsche there's no spare. All he has is some glue and a pump.
  3. I wanted to argue that as well, but considering I carried a pocket pc at the time, I didn't want to take my chances.
  4. When I was in the employ of a certain IT company, virtuous of nature and located in the constellation city of three stars, I returned from the US to find a nasty surprise, namely I could not carry my Zune in beyond the security gate. When I protested, the explanation I received was that it's a USB capable device. Basically any data storage device with a computer interface was banned, as was computer readable media. I'm wondering if this is a growing trend in SL or simply isolated paranoia.
  5. +1 for flushing radiator.
  6. That Porsche looks like a GT3 but why on earth has it been debadged?
  7. Not sure about that, but it certainly is proper etiquette to lower ones beams when following another vehicle. I know some countries have low beam only areas, denoted by clear road signs.
  8. I tried this with a moronic 121 driver on Friday. He was behind me flashing and honking on sri japura mawatha, I let him pass and and then flashed the high beams all the way to the parliament road roundabout. But he was oblivious to what was happening behind him, instead he was doing the same thing again to the guy in front of him! That quite literally proves these idiots don't fkn use any of the three mirrors their car comes with. I wish I had a truck to mount an array of off road HID lights on the bumper and roof of.
  9. If you have a relatively new android or apple device, install google goggles on it, take a photo and get it translated.
  10. I already play chicken with oncoming traffic who use their high beams. As for those behind me, I just try to put as many cars between them and me.
  11. Company laptop was finally shoved down my throat after 3 years of avoidance. Bye bye weekends :(

sirawata ban, and it's an HP Elitebook to boot, a very nice piece of kit.

Welcome to the club. I had a long period of active avoidance too.

hmm.. I'll have to climb one or two steps in the corporate ladder to get that far :)

  12. Just remember that HID bulbs in fog lamps are just as bad (or worse, since they're not adjustable) as HID bulbs in head lamps meant for halogens. The light scatter is crap and is a pain to on coming traffic as well as those driving ahead of you (mirrors become useless). BTW I fitted the Osram Nightbreaker H3s this morning, but I'll have to wait till tonight for a field test. I'm hoping they will have the same extended reach the H4s do.
  13. So who wants to buy a Vios TRD Special Edition?

I bet those "racing alloys" add atleast another 25 horses :P

  14. The generic chinese brands are nearly all the same. Shouldn't have any issue as far as compatibility with ballast is concerned, as long as you use bulbs of the stipulated wattage.
  15. Nice, please do post your entire collection. Never knew the B13 came in a 1 litre iteration as well.
  16. holy crap, box delica with roof a/c vents?? any idea what year this advert is from? looks like early to mid 90s. never mind I just clicked on the link.
  17. Can't beat a Spyker though.
  18. Not sure if that's really a problem. Are you shifting while keeping your foot on the brakes? Cos when the handbrake is on, my car tries to move as well. When I shift into D with the handbrake on only, the entire rear end goes down by about 2 inches.
  19. Ah gotcha, thanks
  20. @sampath Yeah some cars have this too. I'm pretty sure the 3rd gen Prius has it, as the one I sometimes drive suddenly died on an incline in EV mode, and during the transition, I took off my foot from the brakes and it didn't roll back.
  21. Ok a n00bish questions since this hasnt happened to me; are you guys talking about the crusty/powdery residue the wax turns into once its applied to a surface? I'm assuming the bumpers in question are black with matte paint and not body coloured bumpers?
  22. Finally managed to order a Raspberry Pi

use it as a torrent download/media player machine, and phase out using the xbox for that purpose.

      NRX

yay! that's perfect for it. I'm using my netbook for torrent download :|

  23. Well I attribute the intermittent occurrence to this; These engines are shut down by a simple fuel cut off, and I believe sometimes just enough fuel remains in the fuel circuit to get things going again. Cold starts are easier because everything is back to their original tolerances, thus better compression (better seal between piston ring and cylinder wall). Once again, this is just speculation from owning a vehicle with a 2C engine for over 13 years.
  24. I have a friend who did the whole "cheap double cab" thing. Didn't work out so well. Now he's trying the "cheap BJ73" thing. It's not cheap, but it's fun if you do the work yourself. If you don't like getting your hands dirty, buy yourself a nice electric scooter instead. Edit: I should also mention it's the same guy who's also doing the "cheap Volvo S40" thing I mentioned on the forums some months back.
