  1. Yes a bit of a fanboy I'm afraid...(A strange affliction for which I have no explanation too. For as you say they *had* great cars. Plus all the Nissans I have had the pleasure of owning personally, have been pretty run-of-the-mill commuter type cars, nothing special at all...)
  2. Really? I thought putting in HID's or LED into reflector type housings was not recommended? I do however have my old H11 type morimoto HID kit from the J33 which I can use for the test....so I guess I can give it a whirl! Cool, will keep you informed. (And thank you for the brand names on the lightbar and mount, I'll look into that too) ?
  3. I thought govt. permit holders were now allowed to purchase unregistered vehicles from among existing used car dealer inventories at the pre-tax cost? As long as you don't pay a hefty premium for the car, that's a pretty good option I think. If the permit isn't at risk of expiring, then I would hold on as apparently after the budget the govt. is looking into opening up car imports again. (So then all the artificially built-up premium should disappear from the market for the most part. The currency has dropped so they may be a slight price increase based on the exchange rate etc...)
  4. Sounds good. Thanks for the advice. (I'll think about about the headlight upgrade, but as it doesn't have projector lenses I will have to buy a new housing x2 plus the kit for the HID upgrade: So cost wise a light bar makes sense. Plus I am not too sure how long I will keep this particular 4x4. I've gotten to really like it, but if I do sell and down grade; I can always take the light bar / driving lights with me. So that's a plus too.)
  5. Looking great there buddy! Also: Did you mount a light bar on the 4Runner behind the lower grill fascia@kmeeg? What kit did you use? (I've only got Halogens and need to get some more light on the road badly...)
  6. Aiyo! And another Nissan bites the dust... I'm kidding: My vote is for the 2014 Toyota Aqua as well>> Its the lesser of the two evils, as it is overall a better car!
  7. lol !! JC said once that every motoring enthusiast needs to own an Alfa at some point in their lives, otherwise there's no point in calling yourself an automobile enthusiast...So technically, I guess we all have that aspect covered then !!
  8. The US truck market is a pretty important one isn't it? (I think we discussed before how the F150 was the #1 selling vehicle over there or something...) So if Nissan gets a decent truck into that market at a really good price they'd go a long way to getting themselves out of the hole they are in now won't they? How come Nissan isn't taking this more seriously? Or is this because its the smaller truck that is sold there and they are saving all their research / development money for the bigger ones (Frontier and Titan trucks) that go head-to-head with the Ford F150 and F250
  9. I have to agree that front doesn't look sporty at all. Is this supposed to replace the Lexus GS? Why though? I thought the GS was being phased out due to poor sales? So why phase it out and replace it with ole ugly here?
  10. Oh really? OMG. No wonder it (the old Navara) didn't sell many units in the US!
  11. Ah! Yes its hard not to have a rear camera once you get used to it, I'll admit to that- But no worries. You'll the hang of it. There's always a 2-3 month learning curve with a new car (figuring out the approximate front and rear overhangs and where the wheels of the car are in relation to the width of the body etc.) so after that you'll probably be much more confident...
  12. Looks great in black! And not a bad ride at all with that VR4 engine in there: Nice ?
  13. -deleted double post-

  15. Way to go there Mr. Eagle Eyes! ?
  16. Just Googled and the interior of a 2011/12 Nissan Leaf is a fit for the interior center console stack you see as he is getting in. Looks likely. Nice one @iRage !
  17. Wow. Not a fan of wagons at all but this one looks really good! Very sleek design like some of the newer shooting brakes etc. What is this a some kind of Mitsubishi Galant Wagon?
  18. No idea what that one was which is why it was only 6/7 for the win and 7/7 to show us who's the boss!! ?
  19. Oh come on! As cars go its not really a big car! I drove one without reverse cameras or sensors for years before moving on... No issues with visibility either in that car. Seating position is great and there is no issue with blind spots when backing up...

  21. Shape. So we have 2/7 there then. At least 4 more to go (will modify the quiz to make it easier, whoever has most answers by the time we hit 6/7 takes it...) 1. MP Wanniarachchi's vehicle 2. MP Gamanpilla's vehicle 3. MP Ranatunga's vehicle 4. Lorry that comes up behind MP Wanniarachchi's vehicle and comes to a screeching halt 5. Small purple lorry that drives by MP Gamanpilla as he is preparing to throw the clay pot into the river 6. 22. If that's the case we had a VW with this diesel engine in it. The thing was solid. Super great on fuel and was cheap to run (just regular maintenance on the engine) in our case. The timing belt change was expensive though, so check if the car you are buying has had that done or budget for it. Only draw back: It was noisy. Sounded like a Landmaster as it chugged up our driveway.
  23. Okay to keep the ball rolling here's a timely news clip. Won't comment on the news item itself, but on this clip there are 7 vehicles that I spotted: 1. Bus parked on the other side of the bridge MP Gamanpilla is walking on. 7. Grey van that drives by MP Ranatunga as he gets into his car. Identify 6/7 for a win. And 7/7 to show us who's the boss
  24. Well to each his own
  25. Ah! But what happens when @matroska gets drunk? ?
