What you say is correct wrt a cat back exhaust system where the complete unit is changed by removing the catalytic converter and letting the air flow freely. But I think what this guy is asking for is just a unit which makes the noise. Think almost any way side Silanser guy can do. I used to have a small hole in the pie, this was giving a nice deep noise and almost anyone who heard the car asked if I had fixed a " Beat Barrel " . Then I got it fixed and no noise thereafer also no change in fuel consumption.
-
I dont think you will see any noticable change in fuel consumption if this is only a attachement at the back. The noise is from the way the air passes, ( kind of like a whistle ) there will be some resistence but not much.

Previously had Castrol Edge, then moved to Motul as thats what agent had. No major difference Castrol may have been better. I my view this whole engine oil is hyped up, and a lot is to do with advertising and branding. I think the new synthetic oil put out by Laughs is also quite ok, and value for money.

Machan , what you are saying is not very clear, anyways I am assuming when u say one side its only the drivers side ? . The Electric option is only for the drivers side. If you move the leaver in a straight mannger it should only go forward or back, but if you slightly tilit it when pushing the height will change. Hight adjustment can be changed for ur bum and leg area. So not sure if its got something to do with the way u push it... If its still not working best is u take to SEN OK, My view is that bulky leather seats are at least a good 30 to 40 Kgs of extra weight, If you can just upgrade to light weight sports seats.

Not for long, there is always traffic and someone in front to slow you down. But the road is good. Also this may sound a bit crazy but since of late I have started to drive without shoes, and I feel this kinda improves on the fuel econmony as your foot is more responsive and puts in just the amount of pressure on the pedal.

That S 402 looks nice, but most others are just basic B4s.....

Mistakes happen..... even F1 cars crash sometimes.

Mine does 7 Km/ltr, I sit in the car for at least 2 hours each day and travel 25KM up and down on a good road against traffic. Its actually kind of a stress buster Most X Trails do worse on juice, but so may out there.
-
Machan , the real issue is after you use a B4 its very difficult to move up thereafter. What I am saying is for the price ( anything between 2 to 2.5) you get so much of options/comforts and performance, Even a Allion for say 3.5Mn cannot match this. So anyone selling a B4 has nothing else in the market to buy other than a Sti.

That car would have been better off doing " spins " at the harbour than take its toll on our roads.. But at least some of the roads in Colombo are being done up

Nice... not many manual ones in SL. I think from 2008 they changed to single turbo with the rear & front lights changed But for me the this version looks far better than the 2010 Legacy, Its much bigger with the same power output. ( probably too big for a sports sedan)

What are you complaining about if your car does 13 KM/Ltr .. ? The best car for fuel ecomomy is probably the latest Toyota Vitz, heard it does around 17 km, so considering the price difference of the two cars I personally will live with 13 Km /Ltr. Anyways some of the basics in conserving fuel would be a) Avoid breaking too often, car will take up more power to take off from stand still . This will also have a dual effect cos it will save your breaks as well... well maybe a little. Leave early to office and get out of office before the rush hour, if not best is to wait in office till the rush hour passes ( would be also good if you are clocking in overtime, again a dual effect )... c) Ensure you properly shift the gears at the correct speeds. d) Always ensure your air filter is clean, more air = better fuel combustion = more power out of each ltr of fuel. e) Would be good to check and change the plugs if necessary, better spark = better combustion f) Oil = Better lubrication = less friction = less power loss. g) One last thing.... try and avoid giving lifts to people ( you will be amazed how much of a effect it will have by having a extra 90kg person in a maruti. Better power to weight ration = better fuel economy.

Man..... how frekin fast do you want her to go !! I am shocked that you can get 10 Km on outstation on that car, are you positive ? Mine does 6.5 Colombo and only 7.5 outstation. But the best part is my wife drives a 1.3 Lts Suzuki Jimny and that does less than 7 ! which I just cant understand.

Guys as far as I know computers and laptops are duty free or taxed at a very low rate. Same goes for phones. I got down some stuff from Amozon and got it delivered through Trico, hardly paid any duty but the hassel is just too much to do it again.

Machan, slighly confused on the detonation issue. I always though that the risk of detonation was higher when your octain level is higher. The 95 is more flamable than 90 so it has more chance of burning before it reaches the cumbustion chamber.

Yes I think you are right it was a NSX, my bad.

Saw a red one today in the morning going on Galle road towards fort, had been recently registered with KF plates.

Need to take that mind off the gutter.....

Having said all this though I must say that I love em both to bits......Don't want it any other way. Hey Man, thats probably one of the sweetest comments I have heard on this fourum.... so good on you. Makes us realize that there are much more importaint things than cars & bikes....

This is what happens when the cops tow your car !! Gear is on P, and Hand Brakes pulled . I have see this been done to some poor guys car, its terrible as they have no concern for the car.

I would disagree with you on this one, the feel of the leather is much better than fabric, sometimes it gets a little hot but not a real issue when you turn the A/C on. I usually drive with two messy kids at the back and cleaning is so easy , I cant imagine what the car will look if it was fabric. Also I strongly belive that on hygenic grounds the leather ( artifical or real ) is better than fabric. When I buy a second hand car first thing I do is take to Klenn park and get the seats shampooed, but I am not entirely convinced if it gets cleaned 100% when the seats are fabric.

Guys... There is a nice streach of road from Biyagama to Kiribathgoda done by the BOI. Best part is from 9:00 they close it mid way and there is abosolutely no traffic.

Also heard that there is a law to be passed which will not allow condemned vehicles from running on the roads ? Which is a good thing I guess, but this may only apply to Insured vehicles , which does not make any sense ....
