    Carina Or Vios?

just now saw the thread. well a Carina with 99 upwards with superb condition goes for 20 and above. others goes for less, around a year back got hold of a 99 Carina(Manual) for 18.90 although it was a bit high rate at that time, it was a 1 owner car with 60 on the clock, superb!! also 96 - 97 Carina's can be found in the range of 16.50 - 17.50 range, as told above, depends on the condition. if you want more fuel economy you can go for a manual OR try for a VVT-i Corolla which has a better market than VIOS/or any other model.
  4. i believe this is for the front windows? isnt it? but then if you have used a lighter tint, as if you can see through it..i think that kind of tint is accepted.
  5. hey! what did you do to your front? what is that 'style?
  6. gr8 improvements!
  7. immmm...sounds very interesting.. awaiting..let know if there is anything to be done from our end.
  8. their service center is in Ward Place tho. earlier had in duplication road and now moved to the above mentioned.
  9. As a member of AL, why dont you take some photos of the car, engine on behalf us and post here. so that all can see, and share.. as it seems to be a rare version or a custom modification!

  11. seems like dude is getting the car! i need a ride/drive OK! and then please post pics once you get her, before raping her hehe
  12. count me in
  13. EH! noap, as for my knowledge it cannot be. Unless someone in SL did such a modification, Still it cannot be doing fuel better than a 1.5 Manual come on.. 1.8 and a turbo wont do any gud on fuel? will it? lets not argue about manufactures here, they all got good sales, why should we bother trying to get 'ANY' on top
  14. 210 is GT, 212 is the model number that you should be checking on. Corona Premio' have lesser market than Corolla/Carina so make sure which model to look for before hand. Ti - Full Option/1.5 Liter/100 BHP Ti My Road - Full Option/1.5 Liter/Teak Interior/100 BHP GT - Sports Spec/165 BHP Si - Highest Grade/Full Option/1.8 Liter/Teak Interior/115 BHP Once i came through a Carina Ti-E package which has the following changes, it was in superb condition but was lucky enough to get know that its market is very lesser than on a normal version. BTW it was a Manual too. No RPM Meter No Digital Meter (Analog is present) 4 Nut Base of Alloys (Normally Carina's its 5) So if you come across one of them make sure to get it 1 - 1 1/2 below the market price, better not to mess around with a one, do not buy. let us know the progress and post some pics once you get hold of a one
  15. many say that the 1.8 Si version does very well on fuel? how come? weight to power ratio? is it? i have seen on the specs the same thing, that the 1.8 has the same/better fuel economy than the 1.5 version. want to clarify this. as next plans are not soo far, hopefully.
  16. for long run its should be a Toyota try a Carina/Corona as Milindu suggested, Corollas wont give you the same comfort, the feeling is very different i should say, being used to corollas continuously few years back. its a said by car sales ppl that' once a person uses a Carina, that they will ALWAYS use a Carina and never change back to other car
  17. mines taken around 3 - 4 mins for the meter to go up. i always start the car and leave it for around 5 mins so that the engine heats up and would be in order with the oils and motors running Is there anything like that you should wait till the temp meter goes up to put on the A/C? i mean when started in the morning? ppl say the cars are 10 - 12 years old and this is bull shit so that NOT Applicable or NO USE. but then can a person wake up in the morning and suddenly run fast? or start working on something? normally you wake up, drink something, do the needful and only then ready for a action? isn't it? any comments?
  18. well the 97 model which we have approximately for a full tank gives 700KM's/15 per Liter - this runs [Colombo - Anuradhapura] the 99 model, which has the same engine used in Colombo does approximately around 11/10 per liter. depends on the traffic of course (and your driving style)..i come early when there is NO traffic and leaves when there is less traffic, not for anything else but then just don't like to get stuck in the traffic for long Note: both cars are Manual the VVT-i's are said to be giving amazing figures Auto/Manual both.
  19. if fuel efficiency is a concern, try a Carina (97 model would do) which would give you the same comfort like in a Nissan Sylphy.
  20. they say that they don't want to hurt the civilians, but then if something ever happen as you said. it would be just another incident, it wont just change everything! ppl those who have voted can enjoy it all, They MUST!
  21. As per my knowledge, if its a normal day to day use car (not a racing, not a 4x4) then we can consider the service based on the millage done. for a petrol it would be 5000 KM, although the service stations mark the next due by 3000 KM.. i used to service my previous vehicle after 3000 KM done.. but then i think obviously 5000 can be done. - it depends on your engine oil and other stuff you use too for a service. BUT the thing is, me doing the service after 5000 KM's using Mobil, ect. and my dad doing his vehicles service by almost 10,000+ KM at the same time using Caltex, etc. i dont see much difference.. he says these are almost 6,7 years old and do not need expensive oils and maintenance dats wot i know about this. hopefully the experts will shed some light
  22. dats bad, anyways wots next? still planning?
  23. exactly, BT or hands free. which ever will work rite
  24. gonna sell this ah? looks better than the old.
