  1. Hi All, My car is a 1996 Mazda BG3P. About 1 yr back I’ve swapped my engine and my mechanic said that the clutch plate has work out and asked me to replace it. And I said ok for that. After that from time to time clutch becomes very heavier and difficult to push the pedal. And when you push the pedal and release it quickly the pedal comes up with a “Creek” sound and I’ve notice that clutch will not engage with the speed of releasing the paddle. Which means that when I quickly release the pedal, I fell that there is a 2-5 second lag in engaging the clutch and it engages slowly. When I stop the vehicle for some time and start it again then it works fine. I feel that the clutch getting difficult to push when I drive in heavy traffic like Colombo where frequent releasing and engaging the clutch involves. Does anyone have any idea about the cause and what goes wrong? And would be grateful if someone can recommend me a garage or mechanic who can fix this at a reasonable price.
  2. Well I think 60k seems valid since a friend of mine told me that he has done a full service including flushing gearbox oil and radiator coolant, etc for his Vitz and cost him around 45k in T*y*ta Lanka. And that guy also mention that he also done service only at agents.
  3. Hi Guys, Sorry for bringing life to an old thread, but I taught of sharing this information and check whether it is true or false. Last weekend when I took my car to the service there was a Corolla 141 which came for a body wash. I had a chat with the owner and he mentioned that he has done the engine tuneup which was scheduled after 40,000 km, and it cost him around 60k. And he said after the service the car works grate on fuel and it does around 10-12 kmpl in Colombo and the guy seems to be very happy about the car. Has any one of you have any experience about what he is talking about? I'm interested about this since I'm planning to buy a 141 (within next yr ) butI did not mention the guy about it.
  4. Didn't you tried soe other Japanese brand like seiken. I've replaced both master pump and slave pump of my car about year back. Still no issue. It cost me around 25000 for both.
  5. Great work machan. Keep it up.

Machan "pdeeban" don’t blow your own trumpet too much. Just because you got a permit and you go for a beamer will not make you special. Obviously I cannot afford 11mil, but honestly from the way you commenting, my guess is that the permit is not something you earned by your hard work and also you are one of those soda bottle millineries who got rich suddenly by favoring the ruling party, or by illegal business or you’re a dumb ass son of a rich father. So my advice is more you maintain silence, more you’ll doing a favor for yourself, especially in a forum like AL.
  8. I've seen them hanging in Delkanda area shops. Try there you may find a one. But last time I checked for my car I was unable to find a one so I took it to a joint in Pannipitiya where they fiber it. Let me know if you need any info about this fiber joint.
  9. Hi my mechanic lives in Kottawa and I take my Mazda BG to him. He is working in A*W and for private jobs only available on weekends. And most of the time you'll need to call him for an appointment. But the guy is really good on mechanical side. If you need his contact no pm me I'll send it to you. And FYI I had the issue of clutch not engaging, which found out that my master and slave pumps are worn out. Repair kit didn't worked so I had to replace both pumps, which cost around 17k if I can remember correctly.
  10. Hi Machan, Nice to hear they are going to open a showroom in Colombo. Can you PM me the contact details of Gold wing motors.
  11. Hi All, I've seen couple of Piaggio scooters in the road, specially Piaggio Liberty and been fall in love with them. I think these ones are not made in India, but made in Italy. Has any one has any experinece on these bikes? Is there an agent for these bike? How about the the availability of spares, I know it's not like jap or indian ones, but did the agent is capable of providing the parts that we requested. Thanks.
  12. Hi I don't know whether this would help, but my car also gave a wired sound when accelerating without any load, and found out that I needed to change the gear box oil. Once done, the sound was gone. My car is 1996 Mazda BG3P.
  13. Hi I had the same problem with my car when I bought it, oil light blinks after several minutes of driving and even even after changing oil, i got the same result. My mechanic found out that sludge has build up and that caused the blink of oil light. He adviced me to put a low viscosity oil (30) and run for few hundrend km's. And also I have done an engine flush too. Flushing the engine is a risky step, since it can make problems worst, but I was ready for any thing since I got the vehicle for a bargained price. After that the problem was solved and I have scored around 20k during last 2 years. But about 2 weeks ago just before new year I got my car, after laying down on the garage for about 6 months for a full paint job, found that oil bulb blinks again. 2 days after the new year on my way to a relatives place in Wellawaththa, a bearing in the engine got busted, ended up a engine replacement . So it may be a oil sludge issue in your engine and my advice is to show it to a good mechanic.
  14. My uncle changed shocks of his car from some place in Punchicawatha, where they had claimed they repair shocks. They took the faulty ones and had given a discount. For all shocks they have charged 16k. But they give only 1month or 3 month warrenty, nt sure. The car is a FB13 Diesel. So if you like u can find that place and give it a shot.
  15. Well dude, I know it sounds like crazy, but after going through the comments I taught there might be something. That's why I asked about it.
  16. Hi All, This may sounds like crazy, but "What happens if we put 2T oil to a 4 stroke engine?". A friend of mine send me following link http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/320565-Adding-little-2T-oil-into-fuel-tank-for-4-stroke-bike-and-feel-the-smoothness They claim it improved their engine performance and fuel consumption. What do you automotive experts think about this?
  17. Hi, I have no idea about the fuel consumption of BG5P. And also if I'm correct, BG5P engine is a multiple point Injection engine, BG3P is a single point injection. My mechanic says BG3P does well on fuel due to the single point injection, but I don't have any insight about it. In terms of pulling power, I didn't felt that much under power with the 1.3 engine. We'll you can easily hit 80-100 kmph with the 4th gear without much difficulty. But I didn't tried 100+ since still I didn't tried it on the highway. And also there is a 5 speed version of BG3P also available. They are the brand new imports. If you're lucky, may be you'll be able to find a one. But they are difficult to find, at least during the time I'm looking for a ride, abt 2 years back.
  18. Hi I'm having a BG3P 1996. Fuel economy is around 10-11 kmpl in City and 13-14 kmpl outstations. Solid Car. Spares are available in Asiri Motors and new Rainbow motors in Punchikawaththa. Try to find a good condition one, as most of the ones are either hacked by trying to modify or not treated well by the owner.
  19. Hi Guys, Does any one has any experience in the brand new Suzuki GN125H imported by the agents. They say its 180k. And according to them it was assembled by Suzuki motorcycle plant in China. May be true bcoz AFAIK Suzuki Japan haulted prodution of GN series around 2004. Does any one has any experience in this Chines Assembled bike? Is it still hold the same characteristics of Japanese bike (Suzuki GN series is one of the best bikes according to reviews) or is it another Chinese Crap? Looking forward to your experience and comments, coz I'm planing to buy one.
  20. Hi Mate, If you can, go for a Honda Unicorn. It's made by Honda India and compared to the other indian bikes in the range, it is a superb bike. I nave a friend of mine who uses it for 2 years and he says its with good food handling and comfort level.
  21. Machan it seems to be the problem is in the floater. Floater is the device which sends a variable electric current based on the movement of the arm, which floats on top of the fuel in the tank. Most units tends to malfunction with age. It is easy to check it is working by removing it and moving the arm up and down. But better you check it with a experienced mechanic.
  22. Don't know this is true bt a friend of mine said that the gov. is going to give vehicle permits for the newly elected politico's. Earlier they were given only motor bikes if i'm not mistaken. Govt. need to find money for that also. What a wonderful country we are living in. But again in the next election, again we elect the same ppl to the parliament. No point in talking about this shit.
  23. Hay Guys, By the way, isn't the all new hybrid's doing around 22-27 km/l? Then I think it's a big achievement for Maruti comparing to a 4mil computer on wheels?
  24. Hi this may be OT, but how did U know that U have to replace the Lower arm bushes? My Mazda (BG3P) had this crack sound when accelerating, breaking and when fall in to a hole in the road. So I replaced the Lower arm bushes. (but they are Malaysian or Thai. Not Japanese I think). For about 2 days everything was fine. But nw again I got the same problem as previous. Is this due to Lower arm bushes? No problem in the vehicle handling.
  25. Not sure mate. May be my memory is not correct. 2000 is the different in cost of 2 types.
