My New Ride : Mistubishi Lancer CS1 GLX (A/T) YOM 2007
Davy replied to Sampath Gunasekera's topic in General Automotive
The model code spec for JDM variants is the bit different from that of General Exports, so the bit at the end is a little different from what I have learned over the years. I believe you are referring to this scheme (I think this one is for the Aussie market as I found this in an Aussie forum). -
My New Ride : Mistubishi Lancer CS1 GLX (A/T) YOM 2007

STJE is MX and STJE2 is MX-E (trim levels). Yours should have a MX-E badge on the trunk. S = Sedan T = CVT Transmission JE2 = MX-E Trim. (I believe the E in "JE" stands for EFI) -
Damn... Didn't know we had one in SL. Also, that number plate...?

Hi @Harshak, welcome to the forum. I have merged your question with the existing thread you made a second post on. Please continue your discussion here. As others have said above, the 1000cc Vitz does vibrate quite a bit. But if this is a recent development, then I suspect worn out engine and transmission mounts since you seem to have done a fuel system clean up. I personally wouldn't recommend using reconditioned parts for something like engine mounts. "Reconditioned" is just a fancy word for "used" because there's nothing to recondition in an engine mount compared to something like a reconditioned alternator or starter for example. So yes... get the engine mounts inspected first.

Ah I see. I assume it was imported brand new through the agent? If so, you might be able to get the chassis number from them. Not saying that they will just hand it over to you, but you just might be able to get it through a contact. ? I'm not sure if they maintain records that date so far back though.

Have you tried the vehicle information service on the RMV website? You can pay Rs. 150 and get all the information (including name and address of the current owner). http://eservices.motortraffic.gov.lk/VehicleInfo/home.action The "Limited vehicle information" option says that the absolute owner is a finance company. So it is still running. Good luck!

Have you been filling up small quantities of fuel? The range sometimes doesn't get updated if you repeatedly do this. Try pumping a full tank of fuel and that should cause the range to update. Similar thread here. You might also want to try if you can hold the odometer reset button for a few seconds. As for the lights dimming when you switch on headlights, you need to get your battery checked as @GK_007 has mentioned above. Take it to a battery shop and get the battery and charging system checked.

Interesting question. My opinion would be that it's not a simple answer as sample A or B. The result would probably change on whether the oil used is mineral, semi or fully synthetic and even by brand. The exact grade (0W30 VS 0W40 for example) might skew the result. So I think you'll have to consider multiple samples from different types, brands and grades to come up with a complete answer. Also, the environment variables you've stated are not mutually exclusive. Relative humidity is inversely proportionate to ambient temperature for example. So the experiment is assuming somewhat hypothetical conditions. Have you tried searching online? You might be able to find research papers that help (maybe not the same thing, but it will help get an idea).

Please search the forum. The Demio DE has quite a bit of information here. Start with this thread. 1. It's more comfortable than the Vitz in my opinion. I've done some long distance trips of roughly 100 - 200km one way and it's quite good. 2. Power steering rack issues are common. Look for rattling steering wheel and noises on rough roads. 3. I'd pick the Demio any day over the Vitz. It's fun to drive and the fully loaded version with climate control AC, projector headlights, tachometer and multifunction steering is quite sought after. 4. They're the same. The exact capacity of the ZY-VE engine is 1348cc. But it's referred to as 1.3L, 1300cc etc. Quite normal for engine capacity to be rounded to the nearest 100cc for ease. Noting that there are a couple of 1.5L Demios in the country as well. Most of them are fully loaded ones with paddle shifters and red gauge cluster. You'll find more info in the above thread. Good luck!

Looking through the errors in the screenshots you've shared above, it looks like there are quire a few errors. The first thing suggest is stop driving the car. If your brake pedal is sinking to the floor, you shouldn't be driving it as it can cause a serious accident. Get your 12V battery checked out first. Looking at some of the errors, it could be a faulty ABS pump among a lot of other things. But it's hard to say without knowing the history of the car or having a closer inspection. May I ask if the car was ever involved in an accident? Also, did the car undergo a brake repair recently? The car also appears to be having several electrical faults related to the power window motors and switches. If I were you, I'd just put the car on a flatbed and take it to the agent to have all of those issues rectified at once.

I don't have that one I'm afraid. It's a bit of a controversial book from my understanding and was almost banned due to perceived racism in the artwork as well as dialogues. Two other books are Tintin and Alph Art and Tintin in the Land of the Soviets which I'd love to own. The former was never finished because Hergé passed away before that. However, the unfinished work was published as a book. Would love to collect all three.

Hi Thamari, Welcome to the forum. I have merged your two threads to one as they are about the same problem. This actually doesn't read like a message shown in a scanner, so I assume that this bit of text was sent to you by whoever scanned the car. Anyway, the gist of it is that it looks like the brake master pump has been replaced on your car, and the proper brake fluid bleeding procedure has not been carried out after that. The Prius requires carrying out a sequence of steps on a diagnostic scanner to properly bleed the braking system. So even if the brakes were bled in the conventional way, the car wouldn't "know" it was done to re-calibrate the ABS and VSC systems. Take your car to Toyota Lanka and have them perform the brake bleed procedure and clear the DTCs. This should sort out your issue. Watch the below video to get an idea about the brake bleed procedure: Again... this is assuming that my interpretation of your above text is correct. Good luck!

Yeah, some of them are from the 70s and 80s. Most of them are from the 90s. ? Oldest one is from 1972 - King Ottokar's Sceptre (seen above). "The Making of Tintin - In the World of INCA" is probably one of the rarest along with "Making of Mission to the Moon". You'd be lucky to find one for less than 100 USD. Just letting you know of the value of that book. Treasure it like gold! ? In the early 2000s, the publishers switched to digital fonts which was quite disappointing. So if you buy brand new books, they have a digital font and looks nothing like the original hand-written Hyslop lettering. The earlier books are highly sought after.

Vehicle Service History and Second Hand Market Value
Davy replied to Aravinda's topic in General Automotive
Most regular owners don't bother keeping detailed records (invoices etc.). The only hard copy that's typically available is the vehicle service booklet with the stamp, date and signature confirming that periodic services have been carried out. It's the same booklet that @Sampath Gunasekera has shared in one of his photos above. Some enthusiasts of course keep detailed records of the car. If it's a unique car or one that has a following people do keep folders of detailed service history to prove that all major services and repairs have been carried out properly. I'm one of them. The workshop gives a pretty detailed invoice and description of work carried out, so I just file it as is. Doesn't require any special effort and the information in there speaks for itself.
