Just check If the car moving when u put the gear to 2,L or even R and what happen if you keep the gear in D and accelerate the engine? is it moving after a little jerk? First of all just try changing the ATF and cleaning the filter but DO NOT add ATF treatment fluids to ATF. Check if there is an electrical problem. If above measures failed most probably the fault in the gear box it self (Mostly worn,hardened internal oil seals leading to pressure leakage). You could rebuilt the autobox with warranty or replace with used autobox at your own risk.

I am not an expert on Peugeot but I should tell you that Peugeot is a grate car with better interior and with grate driving pleasure comparing with 110. But it might be bit difficult to find spares specially if you not living around Colombo this is very well apply to body parts and interior parts as used spares are not available. But I would still say Peugeot is a grate car but I should keep my CE110!

LOL...He is asking what he need to convert the SUV to Diesel..right? Our forum members says that they are Engine,Gear box,ECU,Etc... And the the Gentlemen who wanna converts his SUV, talking about a "complete conversion kit" so I guesses he already knew the answer for his question!!! knowing that Diesel conversion (Not an original diesel) is not worth, he do not wanna change the idea and he do not accept any advises from the members as well and set his mind for it...so there ain't genuine reson for this thread? I believe that a person who can GENUINELY afford these kind of SUVs would not think about the cost of fuel. This guy is asking if that 110 good or bad? aright? So there is no point in talking about the other car!!!! By the way if you go to a sale where those used cars are being sold or spare part (brand new/used) you would understand all about the cars of which you have been suggested to buy instead of Corolla.

Value for AE110 facelifted (YOM 2000,full option, well maintained, etc) is around 2.15~2.2m but you can get a good AE110 around 2~2.1m. Value for CE110 facelifted (YOM1997/1998, I havent seen CE above YOM 1998 full option, well maintained ) is around 2.1~2.35m but "normal" value for CE110 is around 2.2m. But it is very hard to find well maintained, full option CE110 facelifted most are basic car with manual gears! Anyway 2.35m for above mentioned Rivera is very much over valued, you could try good condition CE110 for that value or even below that. I too agree that even these values are too much when considering the age of the vehicle but these are the values around the past few weeks.

Even though not really related to this thread, why the ppl says it is not a good habit to just turn off the engine when the vehicle is stoped esp in a turbo engine? I have seen some ppl install "turbo timer" which keep the engine switch on for few min!

I too would never go for those cars, I currently having Diesel 110, 121 Diesel and CR27 "Lotto", Those car/van far more reliable even-though they are more than 10~13 years old. But it was his money..I too advised him not to go for those "brand new" vehicles

Both cars are mechanically the same. Only difference you might notice is that front head lights, Rear end lights/Rear end and the Dashboard (Some face lifted 110 does have pre face lifted dash bord)

Today I just remove one of my car's dashboard panel for fixing malfunctioning dashboard bulb, while in the process I noticed some kind of electronic unit named as Emission Control Unit. It was labeled as "Emission Control Unit, Toyota 2C A/T; Denso". My car is Corolla CE110 Diesel, 1997 Oct,Face-lifted, Automatic, Engine 2C. I think this car equipped with mechanical type injector pump, what does this Emission Control Unit really do to reduce emission?

I too 100% agree that the CVT oil should be changed as there couldn't be thing called "lifetime oil" since even good old manual gear box oil needs changing of oil after long time. T*yo*a L*n*a is clue less regarding these JDM models as they dont wanna bother these models as they are not importing them. Any realistic advises please!!!

Got new Axio G grade for the permit one week ago (My sister's). It is a brand new one and my question is regarding CVT oil change in the future. 1.When should I have the CVT fluid changed? 2.What type of CVT oil should be used? 3.How should it be changed? (via a "ATF" machine/Manually??)

I have not heard about CE111 but CE110, 113, 114, 116 are available yet I have not seen a single CE113, 116 in Sri Lanka

See if the Automatic Transmission Kickdown Cable and look for any excessive laxity or tension and adjust it accordingly. It runs from the autobox to the throttle controller unit the adjustment could only be done at the engine side

I too own CE110 1997 Face lifted,Auto 165000km (Genuine). My experience is slight black smoke in sudden acceleration is quite common in diesel engine. If the smoke is too much (You wont pass the emission test) just replace/clean diesel/air filters accordingly then go for injector cleaning/replacing. Do not panic to get engine overhauled. Since you have done 180k, definitely your engine is little bit under compressed but my experience is you can get average of 250k from 2C engine with out big issue harshansenadhir has given a more or less complete answer, thanks for the sharing! Few weeks ago my CE110 had difficult start throughout the day, one mechanic suggested me regarding engine overhaul for permanent solution and for temporary solution removing the glow plug controller unit sensor (attached to the engine) then the glow will heat up the engine little bit more as this will keep the glow on for little bit longer. I just replace the battery and problem was solved. At last, it is very sad/bad to see some member/s continue to "blame" Japanese (car) vehicle over European vehicles or vise versa. In my view there is no car called the best car it all depends on what your needs, what your budget is and how easy to maintain practically (You cant always go to the dealers/wait for ebay) So it would be very nice keep your mouth shut if you cant offer a help even from a word; not like "old smoking 110.....trail of smoke or cause it's... so common...."!

But I too have seen G grade AE110 (only Pre face lifted NOT a single face lifted model yet)! I didn't have chance to look into the interior, but all badges are in gold coloured with gold coloured side beading. It was marked as "SE saloon Limited-G"
