  1. actually i bought the car with the 4" tip beat barrel and i dont want to remove it and fix the stock muffler (got the car with stock muffler also) coz im not familier with persons who does muffler mods.. is it possible to add a primary muffer for added sound suppression for existiing exhaust system??
  2. guys..is it possible to have a 4" tip muffler without beat sound...........?? coz i really lik the look not the sound..
  3. guys this is a related question.. i bought a ek3 Vi 1996 recently and changed the oil last week after 3500 kms.and i used mobil fully synthetic(5w-50) since the previous owner also used the same oil for nearly 1 year. (have service records and bought the car on very next day he has changed the oil) odo is reading about 131000..and my question is.. is fully synth good for a car that have 131k in odo..??.. and im feeling a bit less pulling power(less pickup) after the oil change hearing a whizzing noise when accelerating ..what could be the issue??? fuel consumption remains the same about 10-11 in city with ac in mild traffic..
  4. purchased the tickets through anything.lk and tickets they selling for the place in front of WTC ..could be the starting and finishing line
  5. is that the same car in your profile pic(VIRS manual)??? if its so...u really spoiled ur car..
  6. marino is a great car comparing to its counterparts...handles well since its a low profile car...engine parts are freely available mate if its a 5AFE but there are some 4AFE too..it has a 1600cc capacity donno about spares availability of 4AFE ones.. i used a marino YOM 92 for 2yrs and i didnt felt difficult to find engine parts ever..even body parts llike side mirror and rear lights u can find in delkanda area but have to search ..and toyota in japan still manufacturing the parts for marino so if u need OEM u can get those through Toyota lanka.. fuel wise its bit bad when comparing to AE100 since its a heavy car..u will feel this in doors and bonnet..but the 4AFE ones are better in fuel than 5AFE coz it has better power to weight ratio. resale value - u have find someone who likes marino and ceres unless u are reselling it damn cheap..
  7. guys this is an out of topic...coz its related to Ek3...how is ur guys ek3 runs with five people (avg wight 60-65)...mine is scraping ...my previous car was a marino..looks like a very low profile car...but it never scraped with 5 people and pull the load better than ek3..what u guys think..is this is a common prob in ek3 or am i only having it??
  8. i didnt mean C in CIF ..there are cargo clauses in marine insurance A, B, C...if a vehicle comes under A clause even for a small scratch the insurance company has to pay the loss..which the clause mostly/always excluded when a person trying to import a used/recondition vehicle(but a for a brand new ..A clause will apply)..to import used vehicle our insurance companies 99.99% gives C clause and sorry i said in my earlier post that the insurance companies EXCLUDE the C clause in marine insurance ..(wrong info, insurance companies are more comfortable when they are giving C clause for a vehicle coz it covers only the total loss )
  9. mostly SL insurance companies covers only the above said worst case(ship sinking with the vehicle/total loss- its very very rare to happen)..they dont give cover for the bits and pieces missing..they exclude the C clause even the shipment term is CIF..correct if i'm wrong
  10. yeah macho same thing with my ek...when i driving the car the meter never come down when i park and start the car after few mints the meter is way down...and if i pump to full tank when the gauge is in E it only takes 34-36 liters...EKs got a decent reserve i think...
  11. thnx for the info Stig...the bulbs are H4 nah?
  12. through e bay?
  13. i can remember my learning days in my first car..i was stopped by cop since im driving through 2nd lane in negombo road with L board and suddenly i turned left without even signaling and stopped. and pulled the hand break.. then the cop come near to me and asked to go bit further and park ..and i was trying to accelerate but the car didnt move even a bit .. i was panicked because it was my first time i was stopped by a cop..after few seconds of trying the cop looked at me again and said with a smile 'malli hand break eka'
  14. im having the same issue with mine...when i shift to third or fourth and accelerate i could notice small jerks mostly when i shift to third and accelerate..didnt check the timing...hoping to consult zakie nxt week

  21. went to see that car..and drove it..it handles well..it did about 110kmh in 6 or 7 secs.. really..cornering breaking are good..but the shape is not that good...but its a Vi so have some demand
  22. way too much for a 19 year old car...stick to a toyota if its going to be ur first car...easy to maintain and sell it back...and also if u are selecting a that much old car be ready to spend at least 150K ...
  23. do not hook with these type of companies...u can get a condition report with the agents ..if its a toyota get an appointment with them and be ready to spend a half a day..it will cost only Rs 2800..u get everything about the car even it is a very old car...i did it for my 19 year old AE100.. they reported all the probs in the car ..and they provide the quotation for repair the probs also..it can be very useful when you are going to purchase a 2nd hand car...for hondas it will cost around 5000-7000 with stafford ...i think but unfortunately our toyota sellers never willing to show their car to agents...bcos its a TOYOTA... a typical toyota owners attitude... if u are convincing him to bring the car to agents by the time the car has sold out to foolish buyer or to a car sale guy **im not against to toyota .. in fact i owns a toyota
  24. try to stretch ur budget a bit and find a good ae100 or a VTEC eg8 ...but those cars are going above 1.2Mn
