@iRage the HRV hybrid equipped with the i-DCD system was launched outside of Japan last year wasn't it? Is there any news of an updated Vezel/ HRV with the new i-MMD system launched with the new FIT anytime soon? Yes ,the HRV, BRV (this is offered by the agent here) and CRV trio

a Prius cross?? or Prius Rally Art??

Please read the threads that I added in the last post. The first post itself is a DIY guide. Anyway the 2nd contain some leads about such places. If it is a minor scratch most body shops are able to do the job for you, so don't worry. Yes, same here..

Yes, it is possible to repair most scratches off alloy wheels.. You can go through the below threads for more info..
-
Hi, What do you mean by the alloy wheels are cracked? Could you please add an image of the damage to get a better idea? If all 4 alloy wheels are cracked did the car get into an accident? Or did you drive through bad roads at high speed? If all 4 wheels are cracked you shouldn't be driving around I guess as it is not safe for you the car and the people in the roads. Or is it the rim cups that you are referring to as 'alloy wheels'?? Because the Premios here mostly did not come with alloy wheels originally and the ones available are mostly after market either installed in Japan by dealers or by car sales or owners here in Sri Lanka..

Yes, that fits in nicely! Btw, I saw in this article that Yaris Cross would be launched this year in Japan and next year in Europe. But, I guess with current Covid-19 situation things could get further delayed. Sad to see Toyota going all out in the cross over segment and reducing the model line up when it comes to sporty sedans

@iRage is there any news of discontinuation of the Raize? Cause this seems more up market than the Raize and for me it makes no sense to have this, the Raize and the CHR and the Lexus variants of them as well. I feel they would eat each others market share (this could be just me though)

Automatic 2014 Honda Fit Hybrid DAA-GP5 CVT or ATF ?
Dee Jay replied to Kev's topic in General Automotive
A CVT transmission was used in the previous generation FIT hybrid which is the GP1. For the GP1 hybrid the suitable transmission fluid was Honda genuine CVT transmission oil. For your one (since it is the GP5 hybrid variant) it is ATF (use genuine Honda oil) as I mentioned earlier and the relevant oil would be mentioned in the owner's manual. Since this is a Japanese Domestic Model most probably the owner's manual would be in Japanese. You would be able to find it via Google and use Google translator. Or else you can always contact the agent and inquire the transmission oil suitable for the model. You can get through Honda Japan site from here. -
Automatic 2014 Honda Fit Hybrid DAA-GP5 CVT or ATF ?
Dee Jay replied to Kev's topic in General Automotive
The GP5 hybrid has a dual clutch transmission. Therefore, it is definitely NOT CVT transmission fluid you have to use. Use genuine Honda transmission fluid when changing. -
That is the hybrid variant right? So most probably an Atkinson cycle engine. So when considering the total output of the vehicle it will be the engine plus the hybrid motor output totaling to 298ps (178ps from the engine plus 120 ps from the electric motor) as a system (based on https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/toyota/32186311.html)

Was there any error message displayed in the information screen while this scenario happened? Some have faced similar scenarios because of the famous dual clutch overheating issue or sometimes due to low battery level in hybrid battery at the given time (once the battery charges to an acceptable level vehicle would move as usual). So, if you noticed the message could have determined why this happened (could be due to one of the above reasons or a completely different reason altogether). So as @AVANTE mentioned get a scan done to be on the safer side. If this is an actual issue the car would have the error in the memory.

Is it hard to turn to one side only? Other side okay? Well, once the steering rack is repaired it usually feels tighter to turn the steering than before and the steering return is also lesser than prior to the repair. However, once you use the car for a few days the tightness gradually reduces. But, it will not be the same as prior to the repair and you would feel the stiffness in the steering. If the stiffness is too uncomfortable for you to drive you would be able to adjust the stiffness a bit from a garage. If you feel that you need the steering to be as before, the best option would be to replace the rack with a used or a new steering rack which would be costly.

How Is The Honda Civic Fd1,fd2 And Fd3 Cars?
Dee Jay replied to irshadi2's topic in General Automotive
It all boils down to your personal preference on a car and what you expect from it as well as the example you come across.. being a FD owner for me it's still worth it in 2020 within that price bracket.. -
I heard there's a place in Pannipitiya or Kottawa area bringing down Peugeots and they appear to have the agency for Peugeot as well. They have mentioned that they have the manufacturer's specific diagnostic tools with them as well. They also offer similar warranty as the agents. Got to know this because one of my office friend's brought down a 3008 from them and it was through a factory order (took around 3 months for the full process from building to arriving here- but this time included Christmas season so would have come across delays due to the holiday season).. Maybe you can check with them as well.

@nmx58 please do update the forum once you get your issue resolved so that it would benefit others into the future!
-
@nmx58 and when changing the battery keep in mind that the 12V battery needs to be replaced about every 2 years in these hybrids regardless of the brand of the battery
-
@nmx58 Honda Vezel and other Honda hybrids of that era are known to display those error messages when the 12V battery level is low. Get a scan done as @Davy mentioned but before doing that please check the status of the 12V battery from a battery shop. Most probably changing the 12V battery would solve this issue

Found this video comparing the AWD system of CRVs (3rd gen, 4th gen and 5th gen) the OP might find it useful to decide on whether he needs an AWD vehicle.. Quite surprisingly the 4th gen system doesn't seem to be as effective as the 3rd gen or the 5th gen

As per this link it is 140mm for the 2WD and 155mm for the AWD model. I guess both ground clearance levels are without any body kits..

honda Honda Fit GP 1 battery health
Dee Jay replied to Corolla141's question in Car Buying Information
As per the report it seems the car has some issues with the suspension system as the guy has marked it as FAIL. I didn't come across the section where the battery percentage was mentioned in the report though (maybe I missed it). Regarding this, maybe at the time the test drive began the battery would have been on a lower level of charge (as it is not being driven frequently like you said it is normal for the battery to discharge. But, it is not good for the health of the battery in the longer run). Once the car is being driven the battery gets charged that's the way hybrids operate hence, it switched to the battery during the 2nd stop at traffic. However, the battery percentage your mechanic referred to should be the SOC (State Of Charge) because that is the only percentage that can increase when the car is driven. What you should actually worry about is not the SOC but the Effective Battery Capacity, which will not vary when the car is driven. Didn't your mechanic tell anything about that? My personal opinion is you are better off with a another car that is being frequently driven as the battery condition should be better in such a car. And I'm pretty surprised that this car which is driven only once a week has all these suspension issues with it. On top of that you mentioned about a ABS related error code and another related to the Battery Control Module? If I were you I'd look into another one.. If you really want to buy this car get it examined from the agents; would cost you around 7500 LKR. But, please do note that you should buy a hybrid only if you plan on driving a lot of KMs otherwise you won't be able to realize any fuel savings when the battery replacement comes up eventually. There is a petrol version of the FIT as well if you are attracted to the design of the car -
SUVs are not the most fuel efficient vehicles out there so don't expect fuel figures similar to what your Axio gives you at present. But, when it comes to long distance trips they would return some decent gas mileage. For your budget you would be able to go for Honda CRV, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Peugeot 3008/5008, BMW X1, Audi Q3 etc etc as brand new options. Just check on the prices of the Honda CRV hybrid if fuel efficiency is a top priority for you. So far I have not seen it yet here in SL but, you would be able to direct import one and the RAV4 hybrid is too expensive because of our tax strucutre. You would be able to get hold of a CHR hybrid but not sure if it is worthwhile spending such a large amount of money on a CUV like the CHR purely because of fuel efficiency. But, when it comes to used vehicles you'll have a host of options like Toyota Prados, Land-cruisers, Mitsubishi Moteros, Outlanders etc.

Yes, as @Hyaenidae said seems the 12v battery is weak. You might have to get it checked and replaced as per what Google translator has to say
