What Is The Best Economical Car??

Really? The best you can do is an advertisement on the Toyota site? Come back when you find people who have actually done the figures in a local context, with local fuel, on local roads.

Face it, you got pwned. Your BEST CASE, without traffic figures were already trumped, by a very non best case, normal driving experience (with two speeding tickets to show for it too, wasn't no fuel conservation strategy in effect on that trip!). And this is local context. A/C on. Lots of hills to deal with when heading to Tissa via Ratnapura too.

And quite frankly, trying the Mr. Moderator shit here is kinda uncalled for. I'm not being official here. Just pointing out that you are wrong, not taking some kinda moderating action.

I'll make you a deal. Find a car that you think can do it, we'll take a trip and see if the figures can match. MasterDon, need some help buddy. What say a nice trip to Unawatuna, since he wants to try the run to Galle? :)

this is NOT an advertisment the testing involves the monitoring of the Japanese governemnt agencies too so you dont have a point, and also i gave the figuers taking into consideration the local conditions

Just because it does 22.5 in 10.15 cycle you can't say it does well on fuel. Besides what's in Japanese next to the 1.0 L says it does well in city traffic, not in long distance runs ( Yeah, I do read Japanese ). That contradicts what you have said earlier.

and below the page following text can be found.

燃料消費率は定められた試験条件での値です。お客様の使用環境(気象、渋滞等)や運転方法(急発進、エアコン使用等)に応じて燃料消費率は異なります。

which means above figures are in testing conditions and actual figure may differ due to temperature, traffic, driving style, (sudden acceleration, use of AC) etc.

then what do u think of the data given for other vehicles on the site and may i ask u wat is da CONTRADICTION i made?

Since reputation is being given to posts unworthy of it, it does make one think that you are doing the same as "the above one"

Or to put it another way, pull the other leg son, its got bells on it!

peri , will you delete my post again if i reply to the dumb "dude" ?

i thought this guy rep himself up any way @ mister dude i know some belta owners who can achieve max kmpl is 13-14 in out stations and around kandy max they can achieve is 9-10 kmpl so what you given fuel figure are unrealistic to me and i guess for some members to. btw did that belta you mentioned is fixed some sort of fuel saving device or some thing?. :D

13-14 in outsation? its hilarious freind :D

it is not hilarious dude that's what it will give in sl conditions but if you drive like grandma and without ac additional 1 or 2 kmpl maybe possible i don't think it is possible to get 17.5 to 18kmpl at any point.

The figures you gave as "unmatchable" was 17.5-18. Which I have said can be matched. That point should give me game, set and match, I believe :)

According to Honda, and the same exact testing process(10.15), my car should do 24.5 kmpl although its a bigger more powerful engine. (1300cc, 73kW)

http://www.honda.co.jp/Fit/webcatalog/ecology/

But for the past few months I've had it, it has been doing exactly 10.7 kmpl (as displayed in dash) on my office runs!!

So, I guess we can reasonably assume that if I had a Belta with a 1KR, it would do even less on my office runs. So much for the fuel efficiency of 1ltr engines :) I rest my case.

I still stand by my point and i dont care what you go onn telling and also please attck only "ideas" not the person that shows ur mentality

You mean like this?

And anyway, your point has been disproved, not matter how much you want stand by it.

Hi,

I would suggest to buy a Dihatsu Charade G101S.The one I had (1 litre 3 cylinder diesel non turbo)did 30 km/l(tested).Very easy to maintain.Engine holds only 3liters of oil.Oil filter was only Rs.350.I used that car for 12 long years.I was the 2nd owner. Now I own a turbo diesel. It does little less on fuel, but very powerful.I have raced even with Monteros.Finding a car in good shape nowadays is a problem but not impossible.Be patient.

Kal

30.km/L ......r u kidding.............

as you wish pericles so you say that a 1.8 L Altis does 18km/l ar you out of ur mind? even the 1.5L version gets an (extreme) maximum of 15km/l

 Pay attention. I never said anything about an Altis. I said a Corolla Luxel. The 122 with a CVT box. I dunno about the fate of that particular car since Madz moved to Aussie, but I think there is at least 1 more owner on the forums if you want to try it out.

Tho from your comments I can see you are one of those ... people that think small engines always mean less fuel consumption.

sorry coreection made Luxel it is and no im not a kid in da automobile field to think dat small engines consume less fuel (tk da maruti 800 for example). In my point of view the most vital factor for fuel efficiency is a car's aerodynamics and its power to weight ratio + its transmission system provided we have a reasonably engineerd motor.

and i just dnt care if anybody moved to the other side of the world you said something n prove it my freind!!!!

But I already have :) During that trip to Tissa. Which is also the biggest proof that the driving style matters a lot, coz when Madz drove during that trip it did considerably worse on fuel. This is a "we had a car and we proved it" scenario, not a "I found this website on the internet" scenario. I had fun with it, my first time with a CVT gear box.

Who else had a Luxel here? I seem to remember a pilot in a helmet as the avatar tho I can't remember the name.

me too i have tested my sister's car more than a dozen times and yes driving habits also plays a major role in fuel efficiency agree on dat point and can you give me some solid statistics on ur claim
