What Good Vehicles Can Be Bought For A Engineer's Permit?

YesinLegend

Question

I've already been to Hyundai.Great cars but those guys r over flooded with new orders. Our order won't be met till 2012 feb.BMWs are great but the 3 series is crammed. Can anyone recommend some good sedans or SUVs that are offered for this permit.

Max retail price: US$25,000

Engine capacity : Petrol - < 2000cc

Diesel - < 2400cc

The Sedan would be a either a midsize sedan or a small premium luxury sedan (like the new 320D)

SUV- Midsize segment ( Like the 2011 kia Sorent)

Do you mean ANY car is ok? Don't you have any specific needs?

For example, I would say Terios. But will it suit your needs?

Here are some options:

Toyota: Yaris, Avanza, 141

A*W: Sunny, Bluebird Sylphy, Swift Japan, Swift India, Swift Dzire (India)

Mag City: Chevrolet Cruze (India), Chevrolet Aveo (India)

Softlogic: Terios, Ford Focus (India I guess) and some other Fords

Prestige: 320d, X1d

Unit#d Mot#rs: Lancer, Montero Sport, Outlander, Zotye Nomad, Viva Elite

Senok: Audi A4

Hyundai Lanka - Obviously you have seen the vehicles

Carplan: KIA Sportage

My personal choices (purely personal): Outlander, Lancer, Sportage and Terios

check to see if you can get a Freelander for your permit

plus Micro has a new suv called Korando also worth a look

Well my father doesn't like the freelander. It's reliability has improved from the previous gen but it still isn't good enough. yeah korando is worth a look I suppose. Thanx

I do like the outlander,Sportage (won't fit my dad's needs though). I thought Audi didn't offer choices for permit holders.Must have that checked.Thank you

Cant comment on the reliability of the new one but Agents offer 3 year unlimited milage warrenty. It seems to prove a point i guess.

You should be able to get a FL Diesel for 6.5M LKR on permit according to the Motor Mag this month. For the most capable SUV in its class, I feel this is a damn good deal.

Hi all this a little confusing...Get mixed messages when the dealers are contacted...If there is anyone here who has contacted the agents and has a confirmed list of possible vehicles for the government permit please post it..

I know the following...

LAND ROVER : Freelander 2

BMW: 320d and X1 (SUV), but some one had posted saying they offer 320i as well..not sure about this

MERCEDES : C180 ... I saw a few people had commented about this..When I contacted the agents they said only A class was to be offered..But this was some time back..

AUDI : A4 ...Again not sure but I see that its in the above list

VW: any one has info about Tiguan and other mid sized SUV's they have

PEUGEOT : the 508 is a beautiful car...Does anyone have any info about this...

MICRO : I see people have mentioned about a new SUV..checked the motor mag...Looks decent...

Mitsubishi : Montero sport,Lancer,Outlander

Toyota: I asked them so many times but there decisions weren't finalized..If any one knows please post that too

Nissan: Not sure again...Any one has info please post that...

Please if anyone has any useful info add to this list..
