still schooling +fancy bodykit + 5 seats + loud music/exhaust.... a fine rice-farmer he shall be one day.

But dude, seriously, if you're trying to impress your friends (i presume thats why you want 5 seats), get laid (body kitted 'sports' car) you gotta tell your dad that he's gotta put in more hours at work for your fuel bill. :P

How about taking the freaking bus, till YOU can afford your trophy-car? in the event of you saying "oh there are no busses going to my area, so i NEED a car blah blah blah" how about you suck it up, buy a 80s or 90s corolla and NOT show off to your friends.

slightly OT: after a dryspell we're getting few kidos trying to fit into big-boy pants. Best was the guy who wanted to put neon on his dad's A6. <<facepalm>>

His money no macho. Well, at least, I assume daddy is willing to fork it over. I would suggest a part time job to pay a fuel bill tho.

Yeah.Kitted Civic EK,Lancer OR Imprezza( http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=48330 )

Errr.... wow.... And trust YOU to be the one to find it MD  Jeez, is there some kinda gauge on the passenger side A-pillar?

lookin at your post i think you want something that would look like a sports car but runs like a corolla..best bet is if you can sought out a good EG8 maybe even a EK3 if your lucky...given that it is mostly non city driving maybe even a primera P11 might do the trick for you..

im not schooling bro..im just 20 and im doing a degree...i need 5 seats as if i get a 2 seat car it is better to buy a motobike rather than bying a car. in my opinion a car must have atleast 4 seats . and a body kit.hell yah it is for showing off. but i lv loud music.thats y i need a gud sound system. yah im looking for a ride from 90s. but any how i need that sports shape badly as i lv sparts car even though i cant buy one of them right now.

Oh well, things have changed back home these days so quickly. six years ago back in the days when I did my A/Ls we all used good old bicycles and the maximum was a bike. But I understand that you might be travelling far (Matale - Kandy - Matale) so if I was you I would think more practical than a riced car. To be honest with you they are not that cool as you think they are and most of them would have been abused for sure. I will go for something small like a starlet or a charade.

You should completely forget the 2 door idea. Two door cars with more than 2 seats are more trouble than you might think. Take it from an owner. You aint never had trouble till you tried going for a wedding which involved ladies in sarees in the back seat. Specially when they are 80 year old grandmas!

dude after reading all your posts,I think you are better off with a civic,

1.it's a four seater(afaik)

2.easy to put all the body kits+loud exhaust+all sort of subs, amps in the trunk.

3.you can the same car as family vehicle

4.good resale value  as there will always be fast & furious spirit among all the young folks.

5.it should do well on fuel

6.gives sporty look. [ http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=48654 , http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=47476 ]

I have one advice for you, according to what you've mentioned regarding your driving pattern. make sure once you get a suitable car for you and for the sake of your life, you are in the hill country so please drive ''responsibly''!

I agree with most of the replies, go for a civic. If you really want a 2 door 4 seater Toyota Celica is also an option (i think it will manage at least 9kmpl) if you can find one though.

i wonder y these cars are not doing above 10kmpl.they are very small in shape caompareing to a4door car. 1.5 and 1.8 engines. i have heard alion 1.8 car does 14kmpl. y then these cars cant do above 10..that is a big question which stuck in ma head these days

There's also the Toyota Marino. Iirc it's a AE100 underneath right? So, fuel consumption will be low and spare parts should be abundant. Plus, it's a Toyota! :P

ok... 15 laks to spend..

a good bodykit and paint will set u back 200K the least.

so suggest u buy a early nineties civic, for around 800K and spend the rest on modofying it according to ur taste.. get the neones.. the sound system.. and the rest.. i am sure u can even save 100K for servicing and reparing as well. or even for fuel..

what you need is not a car. You need a big warm hug or a good smack across back of your head.

1- If people around you think you're driving dangerously and prone to have an accident, maybe they're right. No-one rides fast KNOWING they're going to meet with a fatal accident.

2- And you think a kitted car with a loud exhaust WONT give people the impression that you're driving just as reckless as you were on the bike?

3- Well, as for your smoking and boozing affecting your studies thats upto you. You cant change society, so maybe it'll be easier to change yourself for the better than live a disgruntle life, eternally pissed off at life :D
