guys i need some basic knwladg regrding car modifications. i hv an idea to buy a ck2 and mod it as i wish. i just need to know how much shuld i spend for it.

ma requirements

1.decent body kit

2.a beat barrel(i need only a good sound and a barrel which reduce fuel consumption only a bit.)

3.full body custom paint job

4.interior with decent mods which matches the exterior and need some grudges

5.tail lights which have used in modified cars(i dont know the name)

6.front 2 bucket seats.

7.good sound system with a jbl sub.

8.sunroof(only if it doesnt give any troubles after fixing(water leaking etc))

9.gud 16 or 17 inch wheels wit low profile tires.

can anyone give me the cost that i must spend over each of these approximately.

a good place to modify.

The cost of the bodykit would depend on your requirement, the body parts want moded etc. A beat barell would cost between 5k-8k.

The Price of the paint too depends on the type of the paint you are going to use something like Pearlescent paint job would be costly.cost of interior also depends on the material you are gonna use (Leather or fabric). For interior you can add a sports steering and Shift knob. Used bucket seat sets cost between 25k-45k. The cost of the sound system depends on the Head unit,Amplifier, speakers and the Subwoofer you are gonna use.I would advice you to stick to 15" alloys because U'll need to use very low profile tires if you use 16" or 17" which will in turn make the ride rough and uncomfortable.

The best thing is to plan how you want your car to look like and then get estimates from the modification guys :).

1 - you can do the evo 4 to 6 body kit and the price varies by the market

2 - aah the beat barrel lamo - around 5000 to 6000 you can get a loud one

3 - the body kit people will do the paint work

4 - the body kit guys will do it and cost depend on you requirement

5 - body kit garage will get you the lights

6 - you can get Fake bucket seats for 30+

7 - contact advanced audio or petcolanka

8 - it will give you trouble so forget it

9 - go to Karagampitiya area and there are few shops sell alloys

10 - contact Vonmec (Janitha) or Macvood (asanka) and get the quotation for the fiber work and contacts Advance Audio (damitha) or Pet#o for the sound stuff

This is the second time you mentioned it, and I still haven't figured it out. What do you mean by "grudges"?

tnx...can we iluminate a dash board lyk thid. how much does it costs.howmuch does it costs for gauges

heh typical teenager style. I guess you like justin bieber and hip-hop as well. Hey whatever floats your boat, i'm not judging. Been there but i didn't do them, mainly because i didn't have a car

But seriously dude, you will have to forget about the 2nd hand value if you're going to do all those things (unless you find another teenager or a hybrid lover who is looking for the same kind of thing). Plus adding all those things will add more weight to the car and will reduce fuel economy.

then

It will do whatever it ends up doing. People can only give you an idea about what a car in good condition and factory spec will do when it comes to fuel efficiency. If you modify a car, the end product well will be unpredictable :)

If you want 10KMPL stick to the original spec. If you want even better mileage, throw the extra seats and the spare wheel out, if you want even more mileage, well find a kind water buffalo and ask him to give you a tow :)

Or ride the buffalo itself! Amazing fuel econcomy! :D

Don't take these things too seriously man. Everyone likes to kid around once in a while.

But seriously, you won't learn about cars overnight. Take your time, read through some of the older threads, surf the net - there's plenty of info online, go through the classifieds on the site and papers, go checkout cars for sale that you like, etc. Try to string along a good baas or someone with a good practical knowledge of vehicles when going to see a car as well. And don't be in a hurry to buy one, there are plenty of good cars around and some go at real bargain prices.

Buddy here's a bit of an advice. Try not to overdo things with your first car. First up, get to know the basics of owning a car and get used to the dent it puts on your wallet every month (fuel, service, repairs etc.).

Let's say u buy a car and go all out on a modification job. First up, if you don't know what you are doing, u r going to end up doing everything the modification people say and end up spending a lot on things u don't want, cos somebody else said that it will look nice on your car or it will make your car run better (usually that somebody is a baas who's good at convincing laymen).

Then halfway through, u find that u run out of money and dad refuses to fund you. Then u will end up having a half-cooked car that is neither here nor there. In this situation u wont feel like driving the car cos it looks like sh*t and u can't sell the car cos everyone else thinks it looks like sh*t. Remember, bodykits and interior jobs cost a lot of money. If you want a good paint job that too will cost a lot.

So my advice is to take it easy. Try not to overdo things with your first car and if you are dead set on a mod job, keep a few lakhs aside for that.

Make sure that you mount a boost gauge on the A-pillar as well..Forget about the oil pressure gauges,etc..A boost gauge is the most important of them all..Would deffa gain you a great deal of respect..

On a side note, pls try not to be another TOOL on the road with a riced up .......(fill in the blank)..

As fellow members suggest I too think you should gain more knowledge about basics and then head for modding. If not u'll endup with a car which is neither here nor there. Also you should start modding it with some extra cash in hand 'cause you never know what issues will arise once u take things apart (specially the paint job) :)

Since you dont earn money and depend on dads funds, and you want the car to be fuel efficient, may i suggest a mini ? it deffa looks nice and unique ride... its a head turner..:) just dont do anything to exterior with freaking bumpers and stuff, maybe nice set of rims :)... mount a metro engine and there you go.. nice car with good F/C. just my suggestion.. :) :)
