Hey guys...

I wana go for a car but im stuck with a few on my mind and i cant decide... Im not someone new to cars i knw mechanical stuff and all the need to know stuff plus im a big time car fan...

Im about to buy my first car and again im not a noob but then im nt sure if thats the right word as ive kept my knowledge on cars updated since i was 14 i think... but no first hand experience

anyway here's the deal... i want to go for a car that would cost me less than 1.5 mil i would be happier if i get a good deal for less...

this is what i have in mind:

1) civic Ek3 - manual around 12 laks 19-xxxx quite good condition

2)nissan pulsar FN15 Cj2 - around 12 Laks again automatic and with english number plates

3) Mazda Familia BJ5p - around 15 Laks automatic english numbers

4) March AK12

5) Sprinter ae 110

i cant decide which one to go for... im ok with the car doing 10Kmpl althouh the civic will do more... Id go for the civic coz its good on fuel, a boy racers favorite, spacious, good for a daily driver and comfort but then again honda's are hard to maintain isnt it?? .. parts etc etc.. the AK12 - i wouldnt coz its small and the seats look lame but id luv to throw in some gud lookin wheels, the Familia.. id luv to get the hatch but the sedan is fine althoh its not gud looking and as long as it doesnt give me any problems.. id luv the sprinter if i can get one for less than 15 Laks, but most of all id luv to get the pulsar coz of the shape and it looks newer compared to all of the above and the best thing, i can get one for 12laks guaranteed....

Please help me decide which one i should go for.... my priority would be Pulsar coz its new and cheaper, Sprinter coz its economical, Familia BJ5 coz its newer, Ek3 one time favourite, Ak12 coz its the last choice.

i rely cant decide as i dont knw much and have experience only on bikes... is there anything i need to know about these cars?

I would narrow it down to the ae110 and the pulsar. I personally settled for a Pulsar myself since I was able to find one in real good condition, and touchwood been one and a half years and Ive had no trouble at all with the car. absolutely reliable, spacious and well I'd say comfort is satisfactory. only thing is i doubt it'l meet your fuel efficiency demands it does on avg 8-9kmpl.

Bro try to find an EK3 VTEC. It would be fun to drive, spacious and does about 10kmpl. I dont think honda's are difficult to maintain. Ample Spares are available in Panchikawatta and Delkanda and there are plenty of guys who does Honda Repairs other than the agents.

yeh to be honest wen i try to think of the Ae110 the only plus point is the fuel consumption apart frm that its just another car and the interior is kinda dull... on the other hand the pulsar is a good deal... for me its bcoz its a newer car with a better paint, better electronics, no rust, road noise and comfortable... the fuel thing is what manners i have a feeling that ill become a heavy foot driver coz thats how i ride my bikes... now that freaks me out... but then who cares its just fuel... what about the Familia bj5P dats a good looking car too the Hatch... proly one of the best 4 door hatches under the price range dont you think?

Ive seen a Vtec dude... its a 19- xx one and it just doesnt feel right coz its quite an old car but then again the civics are always a favourite... but im just freaked out with the fact that coz its old it might come with tons of problems... if i could find a 300-xx one id go for it without thinking twice... mind games playing havoc!

venomafiax if you are so focused on nissan pulsar then buy it it is a good car at its range nissan fb14 and pulsar has lots of similarities.

after you buy the car you are the one who's driving it so if you like it then buy it if you not buy the car you like maybe in the future you regret the decision you made just my two cents.

if you going to buy a mazda familia bj5P hatchback then try to find a rs model it has 130hp

good luck dude :)

GO for a Peugeot 406!! feels real good with the prestige and the driving experience but just bad with fuel and maintenance!!Just my personal opinion. In your case I insist a Civic Vtec!! If your a petrol head a good kelisa or a VIVA would do for you!!

BJ5P is a decent car. Good on Fuel(8-9 Km/L city and 12-13 Km/L outstation), better pulling power comparing to AE 110 and FN 15, and Nice interior. Most importantly can find a newer car with reasonable price tag. Hatchbacks are comparatively rare, but can. Try to find a 323 model, coz it's slightly cheaper than Familia. Anyway everything depends on actual condition of the car, even it's specifications are the best! Good luck!

You can find a 300- one for around 1.5m. Try to find an unmolested car bro. :)

Familia is the JDM version. Familias come with 1.3/1.5L ZL series engines where as 323 have a 1.6L version with a ZM-DE engine.

My personal choice in that budget range would be a ek3 only of I find a good one.....a kelisa, but the only problem is that the second hand market price, compared to the price of a brand new viva is too much.Or a Viva would do.

You Missed Nissan Presea here.

For your budget you can go for YOM 2000 good condition Refina too.

Else 1996-8 CTII

Excellent Car in Handling, Comfort, Stylish, everything....

Best looking out of your list....

Speaking of ground clearance Whats the ground Clarence of a ek3?

Dude venomafiax, Im also looking for a car in your budget range. I was going to go for the viva elite but considering the ground clearance and waiting list issues now Im thinking of going for a 301 or English numbered ek3. Although the viva is brand new and is very fuel efficient, Im willing to sacrifice those for comfort, power and driving pleasure. :)

well i dont think i want my first car to be as bad as the Viva  well if you looking for groung clearance and fuel economy n stuff try a corolla ae100 or the Sprinter ae100 you can get one with an automatic transmission too.... or if you after a brand new one try the Micro Panda thing... it comes 1.3l full option for about 13 i think.... just walk into a Micro Showroom i think theyve got plenty stock minus the waiting time... i want my first to b a Jap! :alc:

The Perouda's are based on the Daihatsu Mira, which isn't a bad car. The Panda is based on a Chinese car I have never heard of. I know which one I'm going to go for :)

As bad as the Viva? The Vivas are one of the best in that segment. If you don't like small hatches, that is understandable, as is the desire to buy Jap, but the Viva is by no means bad. Specially the Elite. The only bad thing is the waiting list!

So then I recommend you go for a "Presea".

If fuel econ. ur concern, don't worry. It'll work same as "Pulsar"

If ground clearance ur concern, don't worry. It'll wont hit on floor. Low clearance has given it

more beuti + good grip. It's not extreme low. It's ideal. There are lots of vehicle lower than this level

some with body kits too..

Buy it. U'll enjoy....
