Dear friends, how do u reduce fuel consumption with A/C....? If I increase the A/C to higher value, would it consume more fuel or only the blower works hard...?

And what's the meaning of the 'ECON' button

pls help with answers...

when the ac is on...the load on the engine is more since it has to run the ac compressor...means more power is needed = more fuel burnt.

If you increase the cooling level the compressor will be running for lot longer to maintain those temps burning extra fuel

econ mode on most cars kicks the ac off a bit sooner saving fuel but giving less cooling.

Isn't the econ button's function same as the recirc mode?

Nope econ is more like a regulated/manipulated thermostat and recirculation button (or lever) restricts/minimize fresh air intake to system, instead uses the a large amount of already cooled air from cabin inside.
