If you feel like you're going knock the car in front of you, leaving a larger gap between it and yourself. Another reason why you feel that way maybe related to poor depth perception, thus compromising your ability to judge distances. My dad suffers from this to a degree, and he often comes very close to the car ahead of him before standing on the brakes (god bless ABS).

Don't be scare to speed up. I believe learners can only teach you how to drive, but you have to really "feel" the car to be confident. To me, when I sit in the driver's seat, my vehicle becomes an extension of my body (yes that sounds creepy, but that's exactly how I feel), and everything I do comes naturally, often by reflex.

As Peri suggested..take a fun out at pro cart center. That'll boost your confidence level plus that will take the velocity related fear off your head.

Next thing you take your car for a spin at Pannala track. Thats a big boys playground with no traffic, No cops , No three wheeler dudes. Enjoy ther thrills of speed there.Drive faster or slower the way you want.Do all sorts of driving experiments and gain confidence. Sure you will be cured 'Naturally'.My wife went through the same therapy. .Now she is quicker and most importantly cautious n safer than me

Furthermore.If you want to practice clutch balancing,put the car on a steep incline in first gear and try to keep it stationary for long as possible using only the clutch and the accelerator peddles.Now this will have some wear on the clutch but it is better(and cheaper) than ramming in to some poor guys' arse coz you slipped your clutch

Hard but good lesson to try...... My father used to do this to me when i was learning to do clutch balancing.
