toyota corolla ae 100 and honda civic eg8 will be the most fuel economical maybe a ek3 if you expand your budget a little more mitsubishi lancer ck2 is a another option. if you really want a good fuel economical car go for a diesel car than petrol car good luck.

Marino also has the AE100 engine... But marino is smaller and low weight than AE100. isn't it ????

if your only consideration is fuel efficiency you should go to viva or alto...

well, my only consideration is not fuel efficiency so i wont go for an alto or a viva. think its better to go for toyota corolla AE100 since it has a good second hand market aswell. anyway thanks alot guys for helping me out. if anyone has a good car to be sold please lemme know. all your efforts and comments in such a short notice are much appreciated.

on my experience these two cars are completely different... i think still u didn't decide what kind of car that you need... eg8 is your option and ae100 is your dad's option ... am i correct??? l0l

ha ha. its not like that both of us like an ae100 than a eg8. but its hard to find an ae100 which is in good condition. though there are some in colombo its hard for me to grab cuz im in kandy. thats why i think even an eg8 would be a smart option. literally they may have drastic differences but to go with my budget these would be the best that i can get for this range.
