Crown S150s are amazingly luxurious. My boss had one sometime back. Not many in SL ,raising questions about parts availability and especially cometic items. Asking price above 4M I guess.

Engine related parts wont be an issue since sharing the same 1G engine as S140-170 models.Very good fuel consumption.Remember one was advertised here sometime back.

what about the model that came after this?

A lexus model came aft this ,unsure about the platform number. The crown model was S170.

Ok.. so the number plate some things which are not supposed to be there...

Should this prevent someone from buying the car? Or did I miss the point completely?

Buying or not is buyers choice. Car is not an authentic S150 Thats the fact.

Would you be kind enough to explain in a bit more detail.. I am out of my depth here..

i'm not sure if this is the point miniace was trying to make, but the ad says 1998 and by then diesel cars were getting 65- numbers (or maybe already the english numbers; can't remember when exactly that started)

The cars registration does not match the cars year of manufacture. So it looks like the car was imported illegally and being run with false documents. The other explanation is the car was imported under the "body permit" scheme (TSUNAMI) but in that case only the body should have been imported but here it looks like the whole car is new. Either way the car is not completely legitimately imported. As Miniace says buyers can buy as it's their money but they will also have to deal with possible consequences resulting from their decision.

hey guys this must be the reason

Toyota Crown 1998 , 31-****, Auto Transmission, Dual A/C,Original Cool Box, P/Shutter,P/Steering, P/M, Good Condition

Original Body Fitted

i think The Don is right it's a some sort of body permit some thing. :)

Pardon me again, what does "body" in this case refer to? :ninja:

You need to do lot of 'Homework ' dude !

The 'body permit' clearly indicates that "the replacement body shell should be precisely apposite and identical to existing model and make body shell".

My point is clearly the registration is S110 or S100 and that not rightful .Wish not to comment more and beat a loyal AL advertiser.
