1. Prius is not a bad car at all.

2. It has better handing and good ride quality. It also give you decent acceleration whenever required

3. If someone want to race on the roads and love hybrids, consider Honda Insight

4. Toyota Lanka doesn't support for Prius yet, but you can get regular maintenance done by them. Also you can find good places to checkup hybrid system health and even get done small maintenance

5. Don't listen to rumors, HV battery made to last for vehicle lifetime, at least 10 years, if you buy 2007 prius, you can run at least 6 years without any problem. who know what happens at that time.

6. Car is reliable just like other Toyota cars. If JDM Premios, Allions, Axios and Vits can run on our roads, why Prius can't? It doesn't made with rocket science.

7. Prius Gen 2 works 20km/l - 24km/l depending on your driving style.

8. It has decent cargo space as well as leg space in rear seats. That give comfort ride for your family members.

9. Nice to use as a family car or daily long distance ride.

10. If you got any problem with you car, go to Toyota Lanka first. They will consult you what to do. Don't let others to play around and use car as a learning materiel.

Due to this fact they made all components in very high quality compared to their other toyota models. They used this similar concept when they introduced Auto gear boxes. Since most of them didnt know how to repair them, they made all components highly reliable.

Prius Generation 2 is one of the most reliable vehicle. There are prius's used for taxi services in USA and Japan with more than 400,000 to 500,000 kms with very little maintenance and original battery.

Euro cars exist yet in Sri Lanka since there are few people who likes the name. There is no prestige nor comfort in euro cars compared to Prius. I have a friend who sold a BMW 320D and bought a JAG X type few years ago for 4.5Mil. Now he is finding difficult to get 3.5 Mil for his JAG to buy a Prius. What a pitty thing. He has been traveling to Hambantota regularly in his former BMW and JAG with lot of aches and pains when he returns. He has recently gone with a friend in a Prius and he says he never felt the journey since it was very silent, Comfortable and Noise proof. He was not bothered on petrol since it comes from Company. But he says it was less than 1/4th he spend for his Euros.

i cant believe Jaguar X type been uncomfortable. i think your friend has owned a nissan sunny and a toyota corolla or some thing. any ways 99% if a person buy a euro he buy it for safety driving pleasure and prestige(some of them buy it for comfort level and technology they offers)but not for fuel economy and i dont see a prius giving driving pleasure and prestige as a euro.

1- I'm pretty sure the prius isnt the most comfortable car to be bragging on comfort. And just cos its hybrid doesnt mean it doest have an engine, it still does and makes SOME noise, but probably less than a 320D, but i dont see how that would cause aches and pains. And You (or your 'friend') is probably the only person who thinks a prius is more comfortable than a X-type.

believe me, you, Prius or anything remotely related to hybrid will never raise my blood pressure.. and this was plenty relevant for me to comment.. because 90 percent of the people here share my view.. ur pri-ass maybe fuel efficient, and i guess affordable because of the reduced taxes... but it aint something to be excited about..
