'peng',

AS for my knowledge there were no 1976 Isuzu Gemini cars in Srilanka first two Gemini cars were imported to Srilanka by the agents in early part of 1980 after that few cars came to Srilanka but they were not popular due lack of spares.

Can you upload a photograph with the length.will try to help you.

Is this the first Auto-gear car to hit Sri Lanka shores?

No there were American cars long before, and they came with Auto gears, cruise control etc.

Ma bad. At least i thought dey were da first "JAP" autos in Sri Lanka. I heard Isuzu made a good engine for Gemini. Guess their Specialty is heavy vehicles. Even Fargo was not famous in Sri Lanka. Except Police and some government bodies had dem. But very badly corroded.

Yes you are correct engine in Gemini was very good my friend used the first car came to Srilanka 150000 Kms without any repairs and he sold same after that he went in for another vehicle.

Fargo Vans were not popular in Srilanka due to corrosion on the body Finance companies did not want to give finance for Fargo vehicles due to the above fact.

Fargo's corroded quite quickly but the export model WFRs didn't. I know because my dad was given one from his work place and he used it for many years without any problems (only regular service) and certainly no corrosion. The company had a fleet of these vehicles so it was representative of the quality of these vehicles.

'The Don',

You may be correct Resontly I came across a Fargo van used by a Estate owner it was a Export model and he was living at Wariyapola that was in very good condition I had a chat with him but never discused about the corrotion issue I only discused the Engine and gear box.
