Hi Guys

Are we all Car Painters using HVLP Spray Gun to paint cars? i am in a need to buy a spray gun to paint my car, someone recommended me a HVLP(High Volume Low Pressure) Spray Gun,

Checked the Prices of those it is between 15000-25000 LKR it is not affordable for me right now , Checked with AC Paul they got Italian Brand Around 8000 LKR, Finally Decided to buy it.as he said most of the people are buying that , so i also decided to go for it any idea about ?

thanks

if you plan on keeping the unit for a long time and using it extensively...best would be to bite the bullet and go for a good brand.

Or for weekend projects and the likes, a cheap one should be quite ok.

Most paint joints in sl dont use expensive spray guns.

Maybe velocity or JDnet can chime in with better info

Hi Ripper

Thanks dude i also thought the same was thinking are all paint guys using professional spray guns any way i will buy that Italian brand, there are spray guns from 500 bugs upwards so i can expect 8000K would do a much better work than cheaper ones

thanks

Mr. Sumith,

Go for Pilot Type59 spray gun That is the spray gun. I use for last ten years paid Rs 1700.00 at Panchikawathe this is Indian made it is like the Italian spray gun.

Last week I paid same gun to give a present Rs. 3500.00 few doors next to A.C.Paul on the same side they had Chinese like pilot from Rs. 2000.00 to 3000.00.

If you want the best Go for German SATA spray gun. Which is about Rs.45000.00 have to import same.I used this spray gun in USA laboratory where I was attached, it was the best spray gun in my life I have ever used for last 50 years of my technical carrier.

If your your getting a HVLP spray gun u might want to check your compressor as well. Since HVLP uses excessive air n less paint, no chance a ordinary compressors can keep up with the gun.

I have a 1.5 tip HVLP n i couldn't make use of it since it requires a high volume compressor. for good results check your compressor CFM rating it should be above 8.

Not sure about these cheap HVLP's in the market (are they really HVLP?). maybe they work with any compressor. Mine costed 15000/= and that needs lot of air..
