Ek3 Fuel Gauge

Has anybody noticed the fuel gauge in EK3 1998 gets increased while the parking lights on? it will increased if you on the parking lights for long time like Not in ignition on and running

I have informed to Stafford motors and they agreed with this issue. And they said that is not an issue and it is a slandered, I do not agree with them and few mechanics also told me there is an issue with meter board and cannot be fixed . any idea ? any way to fix this issue

yeah macho same thing with my ek...when i driving the car the meter never come down when i park and start the car after few mints the meter is way down...and if i pump to full tank when the gauge is in E it only takes 34-36 liters...EKs got a decent reserve i think...

I mean the gauge incresed when you on the parking light. and it will gives us wrong level of fuel. but it will back to normal when you on the ignation

sad part is, ek3 has no low fule indicator... witch sucks at time... i had the same kind a issue, so even at E, i cant pump more then 30L to it, any one knows the capacity of the tank ?

Members,

There some vehicles have a memory on their fuel meters. Even after you off the Ign switch the last meter reading will be there on the meter. I have never removed any of them and examine to find out how this is performed by the manufacturers.

I think this may have a electronic device incorporated on the meter panel board. I have read on those vehicles instructions manual that feature is there.

If the meter shows irregular reading when there is fuel in the tank, then there is definitely some fault on the meter wiring system or on the tank unit. As well as when you on the parking lights this will have to be examined by a qualified person who understand the fuel gauge operating system.

When I was using a EK3, had the same issue.Some time it shaws full tank when 1/2 full like but it was not related to the parking light.
