Good Garage To Rebuild A 4Age Blacktop (Carina Gt)

Hi All, Does anyone know a good place to diagnose/rebuild a 4AGE Blacktop? The agents said they don't have a overhaul KIT at the moment and would take about 2 months to bring down.

A friend of mine rebuilt it here in a normal garage, nothing went wrong so far. So what's wrong in your engine?

The two members you need to get in touch with is Gunat and Kim. Gunat used to be the resident expert on these engines and got it rebuilt once and might be able to point you in the right direction with regards to a good mechanic for it. He bought the kit from Toyota Lanka.

Great! Thanks. It's done about 210K. Local mechanic said it was under compression and sludge had built up blocking the VVT valve. So I guess it's time to do a overhaul. Need a 2nd opinion from a mechanic that knows this engine.

Is this a 16V or 20V version ? You might get away with just replacing the piston rings and get about another 100K out of that engine. If it's the 20V version best go with a specialist like you say. As Gunat suggests in his post you probably should get your internals like bearings checked out as well while you have it open.

It's the 20V version (2000 YOM Carina GT honeycomb shell model) I'll PM Gunat for some info.

I have done my 97 Carina GT 4AGE 20 valve Black top engine rebuilt from place called High Tech. its in yakkala - Gampaha main road.

They did really nice job for very less cost. if you want let me know i will give contact numbers of them.
