Hi,

Please let me know how can I identify whether Japanese Suzuki Swift 2010/06 comes with VVTI engine or not?

I search through internet and but still I've doubt. Is all the Japanese swift comes with VVTI engine? The VVTI letters not embossed in the engine. But I've heard VVTI comes without embossing those letters too.

Thanks

Well flashmark, the answer is you can only identify for sure by checking with the engine code from the log book or from the car VIN plate. The reason is Suzuki makes a number of engines and some has VVT some doesn't and this is not related to whether the car is Japanese or made in India as the Indian versions also sometimes comes with VVT.

'flashmark',

If I am not mistaken you can get a engine mechanic to examine the engine and get the engine has VVTI or not.

There are number of methods tihs VVTI works.

I also have ZC71S (1240 CC), which has CVT transmission.

As I have heard, the 1500CC variant imported by A*W; have VVTi.

Seriously? As a blue-collar worker with 50 years experience, is this the advice you give?

Yes it's a misguiding reply. By looking at the model number of the engine, one can say whether it's a VVTI or not (as proved above).

It's always a good idea to stay silent over matters that you don't know. Asking the OP to waste his time and money to take the car to a mechanic, just to inspect whether it's a VVTi, is wrong and misguiding. This is similar to a fake doctor prescribing antibiotics for any ailment.

That is the reason I gave him the Utube clip for him to understand what is VVT. If he was not sure can go to a person who knows about engines to get him to examine same.

Sometimes some old cars are converted with new engines they stamp the old engine number or all sorts of methods to make money.

Not to missguide the member.

Is there any easy way to identify my swift has VVTI or not?

Don't think you have read the post you yourself started :) Refer Kush's direct response. If in doubt type in the full engine number from the log book.
