Now that's an interesting ride...... yeee haww.... Blue jeans, white t-shirt, no bra, very nice I must say :) There is this place in Kelaniya, close to Pethiyagoda, if I am not mistaken a service station/garage on the Kaduwela road. I saw some big bad ass American trucks , parked there. They seem to be in pretty good shape...

dunno if it's the same place but there is a "jeep centre" just passing st. mary's church on biyagama road. From the peliyagoda cop shed, the church is about 1~2km down the biyagama road on your your right.

The Jeep centre is about 50~100m pass the church on your left.

Quite a big place with loads of jeeps being done up at any given time. Place is called "jeep centre" if my memory serves me right!

From Colombo u pass the Kelani bridge and from Peliyagoda side you come on the Biyagama road. When u are heading towards Biyagama this place is on your right. Its not very far, but the road is under construction or something and pretty bad.

I am not too familiar with the specific name of those but they were big, . There was also a Jeep, with the star, which was used in WW 1 or 2.

thanks B4,

ill make a trip on saturday to that area & see if i can find it, will drop a line if i find anything.

The Jeep with the Star u saw is (Assuming its an original) call a Willys MB or Ford GPW, same vehicle coming out of two factories, hence the name. 1942-45 production yrs. they originally had a battlefield life expectancy of 3 months! :speechless-smiley-003: .

apologies if im too heavy on the tech specs! :speechless-smiley-004:

Gee thanks Peri...yes specially the back cargo bucket should be adequate to haul my carcass around. :P

Dude, big vehicles suit bigger guys. Hence the jeep myself :)

Have you seen Shaquille O'Neal's truck?

Is this truck (Ford F250) avaiable in SL and can they do this type of bodykit there?lowrider.jpg

And just to correct you, there's no body kit on that truck because thats an F350 "Dually" which comes with a dual wheel axle.

Scouts are rare in SL.... but not as much as the others makes im guessing. Ive seen Quite a few rolling around in various states of mods. even seen a few Scout II' s. theres one in my mech's garage he is doing up.

what are really interesting though are the International harvester Travelall/Travellette & 100/200 series pickup trucks. they are way more rare than scouts & are absolute mechanical Oddball Beasts! saw one 200 series truck for sale with a nissan patrol drivetrain installed & a flatbed, nearly bald 35" TSL boggers. he was asking 1.5Mil for it IIRC.

scored meself a set of front & rear Axles from a 200 series IH truck ( they are Dana44HD fronts & Dana60 Full float rears! damn strong & pretty near indestructible!, shame most ended up as scrap iron cuz our idiots dont know its value)

I've noticed some RHD scouts here in SL over the years, were they converted here in SL or factory original?

Thanks for the corection. A question, are these lowriders drivable? Dont they scrape the bottom? Do they have these type of mods for cars in sri lanka

low riders cant be driven without scraping in some of the best of the best roads, so most of them have Air suspension to increase ground clearance.
