Ford Laser

Hi Experts,

I recently bought a Ford Laser Y 2000 model (Auto). With few runs during last couple of weeks, I observed the engine temperature is much higher comparing with other cars. It doesn't show any unusual increse in the temperature meter (raised just half of the way). But the temperature of the engine room is pretty much higher when I opened the bonnet.

Is this a normal behaviour in Ford cars?

Thanks

Check the thermo sensor if you really feel abnormal. May be previous owner might replace the thermo sensor with wrong model. Vehicle to vehicle Thermo sensor sensibility is deferent. So Check this with a good mechanic guy. Or this is just your feeling, I also feel sometimes when hot sunny day driving after heavy traffic roads it feels bonnet like hot plate. This is normal because car doesn't get enough wind to cool the bonnet area. But engine is cooling with water so it isn't problem to engine. But take it to mechanic to verify.

Your car is a 1600cc right? If so the temp it runs at is slightly higher and it gets to that temp faster than a 1500. So your cooling system needs to be we well in order.

Having said that, there's nothing wrong if your temp gauge shows at half. Thats the way it should be.

Pls correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies. Yes, its 1600 cc. Actually I got the feeling of high temperature after opening the bonnet. The system doesn't indicate high temperature. But the temperature I felt after opening the bonnet it something like in a diesel car. Therefore wanted to know whether it is a normal thing for Ford, because I haven't used a Ford before.

Any idea please... :)

Thanks
