DhoRk, you need to start using the search feature a bit more because this has got discussed recently in great detail. What you need to understand is Toyota does not make shock absorbers. In Japanese vehicles nearly all of the shock absorbers used are either made by Tokico or KYB so they are the original equipment makers. So even a genuine Toyota shock will be made by one of them. The only problem here is there are many compatible shocks for your car by both these manufacturers as there many variants of the 121 made for different markets. The more durable shocks tend to be a bit harder, and the softer more comfortable shocks tend to be less durable.

The Don
It is KYB for Toyota; but for Honda,it might be Tokico Unfortunately the answer is not as straight forward, because KYB will have a number of compatible shocks for the 121, as there are different variants offered with different models for different markets. It might be useful to check with the KYB agent if they could tell you what KYB models/ part numbers they have available and cross check it with other sources to figure out which version is the genuine item for the domestic model 121 because that would be the most comfortable. You also need to figure out if the original shocks in your car is gas or hydraulic. If it's hydraulic you should stick to hydraulic if comfort is a priority because the equivalent gas shocks will be firmer (but also more durable). If you originally have gas shocks this is not an issue because spring tension would be calibrated to suite gas shocks.

The Don
That means jdm is comfortable than the brand new imported model? Usually, if its the same fitment. The brand new imported models tend to have more rugged suspension when intended to countries like Sri Lanka. That makes it more durable and fare better in our pot hole ridden roads. The problem is sometimes the part itself is slightly different so you need to check whether it fits and this does not apply to every vehicle as manufacturers have different strategies. Make sure you pressurize it properly.......thats the main reason for the ride to be uncomfortable...
harshansenadhir
I pretty much doubt that you can gain / improve comfort factor by changing shocks or replacing shocks. However if you need to compromise stability and have a soft ride, go for oil pressured shocks instead of gas cartridge type.

Wheel alignment, suspension geometry, bushes or wheel balancing is probably your problem with regards to the vibration. The ground clearance, well that is just the design of the car. Blitz
326 ppi. Total the size and excess weight really feel excellent inside the palm of one's hand sporting its trademark black colour with red highlights, however it could really feel a tad hefty or bulky for some customers with smaller sized hands. The HTC Sensation XE packs a blistering dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor working at 1.5GHz, most likely creating this the quickest beats by dre uk dual-core smartphone released to date, ahead of a number of other individuals running at one.2GHz such as the HTC Evo 3D and Samsung Galaxy S II. The only snag right here would naturally be you would really need to use Beats headphones and not other individuals to appreciate this audio. machan this is autolanka. & the thread is about Shock Absorbers.. not about HTC sensations.. fonfe
It's very simple, as a rule of thumb: Harder spring and shock combination gives a firmer more responsive drive. - At the cost of ride comfort. Softer spring and shock combination gives a softer smoother ride but at the cost of less firm handling characteristics. Just changing shocks on their own will have little effect on ride comfort.......the spring also requires changing to match. Ultimate best, of both worlds in my opinion is air springs but these are very costly. Or adjustable "coil over" suspension where the dampening rate and ride height can be simply adjusted using a C spanner and an adjuster knob on the top or bottom of the shock absorber. - serious overkill for a non competition vehicle but if you have the money it's your best bet. Kalana - you can fit stiffer springs this will stop your ground clearance being so low when fully loaded. It will make the ride harder though and the car will sit higher when not fully loaded. A cheaper and simple method all thought not "politically correct" in the car world yet still done by many with extreme lowered cars is to fit caravan supporters to the rear springs. This stops the spring coils from compressing past a certain point. Take about 10 mins to fit. They look like this: http://www.towsure.com/product/Towing_Spring_Assisters_prod
