Guys,

Any tips on where i can buy tools and supplies for model kit building? I have a few Tamiya, Aoshima and Fujimi kits im hoping to start work on. I can buy things like pliers, cutters etc on ebay for cheap.. but any idea if there are hobby shops or similar where i can buy the following;

1. Air brush kit (With compressor) - Single action

2. Model kit paint (Tamiya or similar)

3. And other model kit related tools

Any help would be highly appreciated

Great to meet another modeller. Do you build cars or planes? I'm an aeroplane modeller and focus on 1/72 kits. Unfortunately, I don't think these tools are available locally, but I can recommend a website where you can purchase everything you'll need.

If you've got some cash to spend, get a compressor with a moisture trap and pressure adjuster so you can get excellent results. I've got the Tamiya basic airbrush/compressor set and the compressor is the 'bladder-type' which sometimes struggles to keep up. It also doesn't have a moisture trap and pressure adjuster.

To wrap it up; buy the paints (stick to acrylics if you're using an airbrush) online along with a decent dual-action airbrush (Iwata or similar brands). Buy the compressor locally as the airbrush can be fitted to it using the appropriate hose. Hope this helps!
