it should be inside the cabin (in most cars), normally there is a plastic piece that you need to move to get access to it!

If a car has AC it should come with a cabin filter which needs to be changed every 10,000km (along with the air filter) VIC is a good after market brand to go for!

Cabin air filter's don't need to be changed that often! My manual states that it needs to be changed every 50,000km...

A google search seems to indicate that it might not have one. But that doesn't make sense (especially as I see cabin air filters for Mazda 323's listed for sale on auto part sites). Check you owner's manual. Does not have a entry for the cabin air filter?

(On most cars the cabin air filter is accessed via a panel inside the glove box and the location is listed on the owner's manual)

Edit: Found a link that may help.

Just discovered how much of a pain this was to do on a Mazda 3 (via some youtube videos I ended up watching depicting how to replace the cabin air filter on a Mazda 3).

Sorry Mazda 3 owners but: That's some stupid shit engineering from Mazda. Replacing the cabin air filter shouldn't be that complicated!

That's pure BS! A cabin air filter might need replacement around 50-60k upon inspection. Even engine air filters do not need to be changed at 10k unless you're using cheapo parts or drive in really adverse conditions. My owners manual asks me to replace my engine air filters every 30k, but obviously I do it a bit sooner due to conditions and my driving patterns.

However as Kavvz said, inspecting your cabin air filter could be a difficult task depending on where the manufacturer put it. As noted, Mazda hid it pretty tightly in 3's and Axela's making getting to it a real PIA.

If you're really not sure about the 323 and couldn't get info on the net, why not take it to M****A Motors in Pepiliyana to check and get a quote? They are sure to know and you're not bound to do it there :D

Nope but I hv gone through the pain of getting to mine to check the status. I could not find the previous owner's records so I checked mine out a while back and found that I hv two filters stacked in the array. I hv planned for an A/C system overhaul and + CAF replacement in about another 8k or so, based on my judgement on the status. Since I know where it is, I will do it myself after the A/C system is done. I only suggested above place to get yourself an idea of location, replacement timings and costs of CAF if you could not find it online.
