Dear all,

we have toyota 121 with auto transmision problem is when start rpm goes up but dosent move for about 5 minutes then it works normally.ihis hapens allthe times it start regurdless of engine temperature we changed gear oil but nothing improve.pl help

High RPM when cold start is quite NORMAL.

Depending on the model, roughly cold start RPM is about 1200 & then drop to 700-800.

If that the case, don't worry & enjoy driving.

When u put to D, slight RPM drop should be visible & that's still higher than the RPM you see when engine hot.

Transmission delay. Check with Automatic Transmission Mechanic.

A lot of people have had similar issues before; IIRC, its related to a oil seal that gets fried over time. fixable with a repair kit. Search the forum and you'll find a lot of details.
