Please Help Check Engine Light In Kia

i use a kia sportage 2013 just beyond 10,000km on the clock. through out pumped super diesel only and regular services on time.two days back my brother took the vehicle for a trip via kandy to anuradhapura when he returned from abroad for a vacation.

now the check engine light turns on when he turns on the engine and persists until engine turned off.but he doesnt feel any difference in engine power and noise.

now he is in trapped in kandy pondering to drive back colombo or do any temperory measure. pls help with your expert advice. the hoses and wiring looks undisturbed in engine bay according to him

It's better if he can get a engine scan done at kandy...just to be safe

I found this online that it gives the engine light even when the gas filling cup is not tight...

thanks for early reply.scan wont be an option this part of the day. probably look for simple measures as you said
