Proper Battery Amphs

Hey guys

I have a Proton Gen 2 1.6L and , previous owner has put a 65Amps battery and I now its the time for a new battery,

can anyone let me know whats the proper amhs I should for a 1600cc petrol car ? 45Amps is enough,

65Amps battery is too big and it doesnt fit properly to the battery rack in the car

Check with Swedit as to the code of the battery you need to use. Typing that code in Google will give you the battery type. If its a 45AMPS battery that is fitted by standard, it should be sufficient. What happens is users try to compensate for lack of use, or issues with the alternator or grounding by installing large capacity batteries.

Just to add my 2 cents to the Don's post, Proton OEM battery is of DIN55 size ie 55AH and somewhat specific dimensions to fit into crowded engine bay of Proton.
