The Final Suzuki Maruti Car Rolled Out

Maruti 800 production was low from 2009 IIRC when it was banned from sale in Big metro cities of India. BS-IV(IIr to Euro-4) is mandatory for new cars.

Average(not entry level) buyer in India choose a Maruti or Hyundai for peace of mind. Diesel cars are more popular. and 100% of them are common rail diesels like multijets, tcdi etc. Alto 800 flopped. Alto K10 seems to sell in rural region. our market has no JDM used car imports like in SL and BD. there is no imported used car market.

I believe even Maruti brand will be dissolving in 3-4 years. Suzuki has set up their own plant in Gujarat state while Maruti has plants in NCR(Gurgaon and Manesar).

Presently, most "hot" cars in India are Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster/Nissan Terrano, Maruti Swift, Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova, Maruti Ertiga, Hyundai grand i10 etc. average customer keeps the new car for 3-5 years before selling/exchanging for new cars.
Here's how streets of tier-2 cities(Cochin for eg) looks. notice the cars:

We have only Ambys, Fiats and Maruti's until economy was opened in 1992 for foreign investment. A video of Delhi roads from mid 1970s will be interesting:
