Guys, I'm in the car hunting scene these days. Yesterday I went to inspect a car, a 2002 Bluebird Sylphy. The car was in great nick. However the registration book had 6 previous owners ( 3 of them printed on it), one of them ( printed on the bottom) was a name of a leasing company.

How does a name of a leasing company get printed on the registration book ? When you had a lease with your vehicle does the name of the leasing company get accounted as a previous owner of the vehicle ? BTW, is there a way to get all the previous owners details ?

What is holding me back about this car is it had changed hands quite quickly and it has many previous owners.

Please shed some light :)

Yes, the Leasing companies name get printed on the book as a previous owner. Maybe it was leased few times before. And I think when the lease is settled the actual owners name get printed again on the book.

Maybe the RMV could provide information about the previous owners but I don't think that you could do a request directly, maybe the current owner can. btw is this car on open papers now?

It's registered to the current owner machan. Btw I could contact one of the previous owners ( #5 on the list) and got a lots of information about the car. According to him he is the real #3 owner (he has had a lease which is in the list as #4) and the car is actually in good unmolested condition. Even he knew about #6 owner and reason why he sold the car.

Are you sure its a genuine Sylphy? Most of these people make a standard n16 in to a Sylphy by swapping a few things, Some cars Sylphy came with a 1800cc power-plant but most Sylphys on the road today are converted N16 SuperSaloons . Why pay for something that is not real despite the X number of owners.

If you give me the chassis number, i can tell its a real Sylphy or not

It has FG10-xxxxxxx as the chassis number in the registration book which means it's a genuine Sylphy right ?

Magnum are you using the nissan epc data site ?

If the car is genuine and has a good history I don't see a big problem with the number of owners. Btw how much is he asking for the car?

My heart is set on that car machan, he is asking 19 for it

No bro theres another site, it can tell a car's complete info including the original option grade . I need the complete chassis number though. If it says FG10 it must be sylphy cuz Sunny came as N17 right?

Yes. Please share that site, what you have posted is a face lifted BBS ( damn that sounds so wrong :/ ) The one I was looking at was a pre face lifted one ( known in our market as N16 Sylphy). Magnum pls check your inbox

This is the site I was using to find out car information. It doesn't have data of some cars though.

You can use this site to find information on other car brands too.

Probably the current owner has a lease/ hire purchase for this car. When he settles the lease, the leasing company issue a "letter of deletion". When you submit your MTA6/8 to RMV along with this letter, they will remove the leasing company's name and issue you a new book. But the name of the previous owner(s) will not get deleted (only the leasing company name which the letter of deletion bares)
